No, not at all. I know drifting is hard on cars but the steering column seems to hold up to it fine. It wasn't driven that much between events either. So as expected, just like a quick release, this should hold up pretty well. It uses allen bolts to keep things tight where they need to be, so should they come loose, you just have to tighten them.

Felt sold last time it was on my car. I just switched to a quick release now that my seat is bolted directly to the floor.
