I don't know of any shops around here and need some help. I know there's plenty in Atlanta, but what else would any one recommend?

I'm no shop, but I have alot of useful information that I don't mind passing along to you. I've been to Showzone a couple times, never had anything done but like Matt said earlier they're very down to earth.

Also you get what you pay for so there's Enjuku Racing in Fl if your down for the drive. I'm located at Beaufort, SC and looking to get my car tuned soon when I get back from deployment as well.

Japanese Auto Specialist's in Greenville are great too. They've done most of the major work to my car and the owner Bill is a great honest guy that won't give you the run around. He also just got a dyno put in and has been dynoing cars.

How familiar is he with SR's though. Not like just dyno and call it a day but optimum performance and know's his stuff. Kinda like Steve Shadows.

well hes got a personal 1/8th mile drag s13 sr20 with a powerglide in it and an awesome yellow 280z with a rb25 in it, its whats his logo's modeled after lol. and everytime i stop by there hes working on a rb or sr swap. and some of these people trailer their cars up here from GA, FL. seen the "general lee supra" up 2 weeks ago gettin dyno tuned, badass car. he's been working on my car for almost 5 years now and i have no complaints.

Do you know what kind of dyno he has? Experience working with a Apexi FC? Dyno rates around?

I'll vouch for Showzone all day, those guys know what they are doing tuning cars. I've seen RB25 S13, SR20 S14, SR20 S13, you name it, they've tuned it and done a great job! A friend sent his RB25 S13 there and it had a few problems that were causing it to shutter under boost at higher rpms, when the car came back it was strong as ever.

I'd reccomend REP Automotive all day long. White Horse Rd in Greenville. the owner Virgil can build anything. he's especially good with RB's and SR's. not too mention he can build any Honda motor blindfolded.

Yeah NSP is a good place to go as well. It used to have a bad rep because of one terrible employee. no names but his shop lost a lot of credit. but Dave will help out. the prices for people he doesnt know may be a tad higher but he won't screw anyone over if they seem legit.

Yeah Bill is a good guy too. i went to school with his son Austin Wilson, and his friend Felix. they both can build a car or figure out what the issue is. Bill's 6.3 second SC61 automatic SR20 S13 hatch holds up constantly.

What ever happened to GSC Motorsports in Charleston?

Bill at Jap Auto is probably the best guy in the Greenville/Upstate area.

If your talking about the Virgil I know then yes, he really can do anything honda related blindfolded. He knows what he's doing on about anything.

As far as NSP, I avoid them. Used to use them a lot but I lost faith in their ability to do good quality work. I'll stop by for parts but thats it. He does have lots of parts though, usually has 5 or 6 shells sitting outside the shop.

+1 on Bill Wilson

Depending on what you need, I would talk with Bill Wilson at Japanese Auto Specialists in Greenville, SC. I honestly wouldn't let Rims&Things, TDC Auto, or NSPerformance touch anything owned by me. The only thing those places are good for is finding parts locally if your in a bind and are shitting money. Far too many horror stories have come from those places and I've seen it first hand.

What kind of work do you need done?

I definately agree. Chris at TDC fucked over my friend who traded 2 cars for his silver 350z with sts kit. He gave chris cash to pay for and put on a new front bumper because the current one was broke under the front mount. A week went by and he said the car was at the body shop. Another week and the car was still at the shop. He finally popped in one day and there sat his car, hadn't moved since he dropped it off. They didnt even have the courtesy to pull it into the garage.

Another friend had a nistune installed at TDC, which took 3 weeks and they screwed it all up. He took it to Bill and within a week he had his car back.

Can't wait till tax time! Getting my injectors, nistune and tune! Hoping for atleast 350whp.

BTW ANYBODY LOOKING FOR A GT2560R? I GOT ONE FOR SALE. MSG ME IF INTERESTED :D

I will personally vouche for NSP all day long. I'd bet my life on them. I know all the guys there and know they do good work. TDC is shit. They will screw you over in a heartbeat and i also personally will vouche for that as i've been there at the shop when the owner was talking about ripping off a kid on an SR swap. JAP AUTO is probably best for overall Nissan in the upstate though.

Rims and things is a parts only shop...They do have most jdm parts that you can't find anywhere else, a huge selection of wheels and exhausts, but are extremely shady.

Bill at Jap auto is having a dyno day March 5th at his shop. $25 for 3 pulls. 2pm-7pm or till crowd is gone. Also they will be grilling too.

I second this. I jus bought a 240 w/ sr20 and david has helped me out and gave me good deals on some misc parts. I recomend this shop

Maybe dave stepped up his game recently but a had a good friend get fucked on a sr swap from him a few years ago. Wont go into many details but the work was sub par (wire nuts on the harness anyone?) and kept a ton of parts from the halfcut. Not to mention charged the kid almost 6k. But like i said, that was like 5 years ago.

I got all my work done there on my 97..turbo, internals, etc... its pushing 485hp, and still reliable as a daily driver.. Very happy with everything they have done, its a 2 hour drive to showzone, but I wouldnt go anywhere else, awesome shop, awesome people, awesome work... Nothing else to say.

How are they're rates? Can you order engine swaps through them as well if need be?

Their rates are decent for being the only good shop around.. You can get it done cheaper at midas, or precision tune, but do they know your sr20, ka24 or rb like showzone?? HELL NO...Labor is $95/hr...but they are an excellent shop..They do have suppliers for complete motors and swaps, I am actually talking to them now to try and get swap... They told me as of yesterday that they are about a month and a half away from getting another batch of engines for swaps, if you go on their website, The ShowZone (http://theshowzone.com/) you can email them with any questions you have, and they usually get back to you pretty quick 1-2 days. and they are very helpful and give great advice as well..

What motor are you looking for since you already have an sr in your car?

Also how are they for buying motors off of? I know some shops half ass, jimmy rig or whatever wiring or motors... not saying they do just asking is all.

Anybody know of shops that are known for tuning SR20's with Power FC other than TDC in Spartanburg or National Speed in Wilmington? Those are the only two that I am aware of.
