I still remember reading about this car in a Superstreet magazine back in the late 90s. I dreamnt of having that turbo kit to blow away all those Integras and Civics back then haha. Am I reading this right? With the turbo kit that 240 still ran 16 second 1/4 mile time?

Those wheels are the Technomagnesium wheels. I had picked one up before, and almost threw it into the ceiling. It was very light.

If it is a stock block, maybe they are running stock injectors, on 7lbs boost with stock everything else and perhaps that turbo is shitty.

2. at 8.5 psi a ka should make a lot more then 208bhp
3. with 220 tq that thing should run high 14s

Tuning was pretty exciting back than. The potential of the 240sx was still to be discovered , unlike today where everything has been done to the chassis.

Media kind of pushed the idea that the 240sx was underpowered back then, so something like this probably didn't sell too well.

Hks Build cars all the time (duh) but they have "grave yards" that have all kinds of rare cars with one off prototype parts. I have a pic of one ill try and dig it up. Yes Canada gets the KA too

I'm pretty sure I read on freshalloy back in the day this kit was never actually released to the public. So if this is rare I guess the OS Giken/Enonvativ turbo kit is equally as rare. Anyways it was a top mount GT2540, lame by todays standards but this was back when there was literally like 3 turbo KA's in the entire country.........so yeah not bad.

pretty sure it was never released. when this car came out i was in the process of deciding if i should turbo the KA in my old S13 or put an SR in. the SR won. but i remember talking to the HKS guys at one of the Import Showoff shows and they told me it wasnt being made. not enough interest.


on a side note Jun was in the US at that time and quoted me 14k to put a bone stock SR in my S13.

I shit you not had at least 5 LSX engines chilling with full drivetrains along with two viper drive trains (all they wanted was $4k for the entire vehicle). I walked that place for two hours and didn't even walk half of it. I've never come across any other yard that big. Last time I was there they only had two s13's, one was a pretty solid vert though.
