Hey, just wondering if anyone has trying installing an aftermarket carpet into a gutted chassis, ie no plastic side pieces? Debating on whether or not to try it or head to an upholstery shop to have them do a custom job...

I've been really happy with my carpet from stockinteriors.com... if fit pretty well considering it was aftermarket. You just have to take your time with trimming/installing it and it comes out alright.

I had some extra from laying carpet in my house. So I cut some out for my trunk. It ended up molding pretty fast. Would not recommend.

Do you have any pics of your interior/carpet? i'd be interested in seeing it as i will be redoing the interior this winter.

I don't really have any shots that show the fitment of the carpet- I'll try to snap some tonight if I get a chance.

Exactly the same case for me with my carpet from stockinteriors. I took alot of time trimming and fitting it around everything so it fit VERY nice and tight with everything it went around, and now it looks and feels 92983754645299278 times better than the original 20 year old carpet that came in it. IMO it was the best thing ive done to the car to date.

if you got s13 dohc, the sohc carpet is pretty nice.. i remember buying one at the junkyard, washing it up and throwing it into my old car = clean as hell. More durable material.

This is still on my to-do list. Though I don't mind the pastics in the cabin, and they don't weigh anything = /, can't understand why people strip that stuff out unless they are track only..-.-
I have heard a lot of good things about stockinteriors..
Still waiting for some pics on this thread :)

I have some pics, also Stockinteriors.com, but my photo host is down at the moment. Figures, that has never happened in the 10 years I have been using it. I will post the pics as soon as it's back up and running.
