Sorry for all the tech threads btw, I'm just trying my best to clean this car up. I bought it for a deal, just with all these issues.

So my last big technical issue is that I don't have power steering right now. The pump is on the motor with the appropriate belt, but nothing is attached to the "P" bolt--i think its called a banjo bolt?

Anyhoo. I understand that the E and the DE had power steering on opposite sides of the engine bay. I went to the yard and found an 89 and took the reservoir, the hose that connects to the banjo bolt, and a few other lines for power steering--not really knowing what exactly what I needed.

I was wondering if anyone has done this, a single cam in a dual cam chassi..im sure its been done before.

I'd like to know how to route my lines. Im currently on this howstuffworks website to try and understand power steering in general, maybe then I'll know how I can run my lines.

Thanks for your help again, guys.

What's the problem you can't successfully search?

Sorry, im new.

My car originally had a dual cam in it. Which had different piping. I took all the piping i needed off an 89 single cam and was wondering how I would fashion it to the steering rack on my car, which originally came with a dual cam-- because as i understand it, they are different. Ive been staring at the diagram for a while and Im trying really hard to figure this out. I dont have much mechanic experience so things look a little foreign to me, sorry if im an inconvenience but you can always just ignore my inquiries.

If you pulled the lines off a SOHC chassis, how were they routed on it?

Bingo. Put them on the same way they came off. The rack is the exact same and the SOHC lines bolt right up to it and the pump. Or, just look at any picture of any SOHC chassis online. It's very self explanatory when you set them under the hood.

i guess the reason i was confused is that i thought the return lines were the same, which they are not according to the diagram.. i guess im missing some return lines. boo.
