So I got my 240 a couple months ago...a 98 SE, and naturally when the insurance company switches to my new car they check my driving record. It went from 3500 a year when i got the car...then they found out about a ticket for speeding and also added a 2000 dollar claim. Now, it's 10000 a year. When I had my acura I got broken into and the body shop repaired some interior pieces...the car is riced out so they told the insurance company i had "a ridiculously modified racing machine" LOL. So I think that I've been dubbed by farmers insurance as a "raceR" or something....Anyway, just wanted to share my ludicrous rate increase.

sorry to hear that man, thats pretty tough. Being in Jersey (me) is like that. But you may have more options, get a quote from other insurance companies. In jersey its pretty much allstate or bust

NJ manufacturers man, its the best you can get. Rates don't go up its great. I pay 1200 a year and i'm only 19. I've messed around before and called up for prices and asked about a viper they said for me it would be only $3000 for full coverage.

Insurance in NYC sucks too. I'm 30 yrs old with 13 yrs of driving experience, haven't had any accidents in 10 yrs...and all it takes is 1 speeding ticket to bump my insurance from $650 to $3600 (Liability) a year!!!

One problem is the amount of coverage my parents want me to have... 250k bodily, 500k per occurrence, 100k prop damage. But it's not like I have a twin-turbo supra and I'm 16 with 3 tickets or something!

your coverage is crazy...that is why your rates are so high. you probably have a ZERO deductible too! if you've got all that crap, don't be surprized when they come after you with no lube!

Insurance is so bad here in NJ. Nobody will even quote you over the phone and you'd be lucky to open a new policy. I wonder how bad your $10K premium would be here in NJ...

Holy Hell Man... Why are you driving at 16? its the biggest waste of cash there is. wait tell your 18. put that **** on blocks. at 18 i was at 3900 a year.. at 22 it was 2000 a year... Note that its with allstate and MAX everything... A car is not worth 10k a year.
