Found this on speedalliance.com, listed $199 for a set of 4. Sounds too good to be true consider how much more expensive GTO or Attain hubs are. What do you think?

i think those are just adapters as you said. either they blt onto the existing 4 lugs or something else, but i dont think they are actual hubs that bolt onto s13 or s14 base spindles. i could be wrong though.

bro, those arent hubs
they look like bolt on spacers
big difference.

the ATTAIN/GTO are replacement hubs in a 5 bolt pattern
these look to just bolt onto your existing lugs and then you botl a 5 lug wheel to that

cheap yes. a cheaper 5 lug. safer? its hard to say. i recall someone had theirs break and lose a wheel on the freeway, totalling the car...i want to say xxxx but not sure and dont want to give bad info on the pesron it happenned to for i am not sure.

get the REAL hubs. :) or the NEW attain. 4 and 5 lug hub adjustable hehehe..sickness.

Adapters huh, humm, Those would be nice for someone who has alot of sweet 4 lug wheels and got some cheap high ofset 5bolt wheels, humm. dousan what do you think of 16x7,8,9 starion wheels, I hear their light weight, but what will I have to do to get a 0 offset wheel thats 16x9 on the back of my car? to much work.

9" 0 offset you need -4 degrees camber w/ stretched tires and rolled fedners
vrt mike had thatsetup on his s13..look at his site, its got pics..better yet, let me show you:

r33 gtr 17x9 +30, w/ 215/45/17s and 30mm bolt on spacer = 0 offset and -4 degrees camber and rolled fenders

If I got overfenders would I need less camber? Lets say at 1 1/2 wider rear fender, would that require a nice camber?

Dousan_PG
08-05-2003, 11:51 AM
1.5" you know that's HUUUUUGE right? if you dont rock wide wheels all the time it will look goofy as hell.

but yeah wont need as much (if any???) camber.

btw, dont waste your money on wide fenders
get your priorities inline first.
you dont NEED them or those wheels
you NEED LSD. hahahaha

h/o this thread went over my head.

So this company, Attain, sells a 5 Lug hub that you replace your old 4 lug hub with?

So all this 4/5 lug conversion stuff can simply be done by purchasing and installing these hubs from Attain?

Is there additional hardware? Is a straight forward hub R&R?

(R&R - remove and replace)

edit:

hey there it is:

the new attain are 4 and 5 lub hubs
think of it like this
circle
the circle has 9 holes drilled in it for a 4 and a 5 lug patterns
that's basically what the attain hubs are
the studs are screwed in w/ a allen wrench (special lug nuts come in 2 lengths iirc)

it replaces your stock hubs but it is a 'special' type hub
you put the rotors on so all 9 holes are exposed so you an change your lug pattern simply by removing the wheel and moving the lug bolts around. that's it! :) sooo nice.

holy shizzle...

that makes it much clearer.. Thanks Nate.

So does this mean, when ever i need new rotors I would have to a) purchase from them (no performance value) b) get them redrilled in the exact location of the studs...

thats a bitch

edit: Attain has some beastly cars:

ya just redrill it
right now my z32 brakes are drilled for both 4 and 5 lug. why? im 4 lug w/ z32 brakes and im going 5 lug (5 lug on those are stock)

it would be easy
you can do it with ANY rotor.

If you have a drill press...

or overly steady hands.

They got some seriously nice stuff. Guages and what have you. Whats the deal with the throttle cable wheel?

Does anyone know of a place that can get Attain parts? I emailed them but never got a reply, they probably don't speak english and I don't speak Japanese...

Now you give me one good reason for this thread to have been bumped and promise NOT think that the best thing about the individual who bumped the thread was left running down his mother's leg all those years ago

They should lock this thread so nobody buys those atrocious things. YUCK! I would rather see someone drill into their existing hubs

i like how the original thread title has "Affortable" in it.

why isn't this necromancer banned?
