So here is the problem im facing. The car starts and runs without the MAF which is causing me to run really rich, smoke really bad and foul out plugs left and right. I had tested the MAF on my friend's car and it works fine. Any idea on what could it be?

Mods List:
z32 MAF
BC 264 cams
greddy intake manifold
garrett 2871r .64ar
740cc injectors
walbro 255 fp
aeromotive fpr(set to 38psi at idle)
R.S. Enthalpy tune

Are you saying that the car runs even when you take the maf off or that it runs like shit with it on?
Check for vac leaks, check the intercooler couplings for any looseness, bad coilpacks also cause those Subaru sounding/bogging/blacksmoke symptoms

Quick question, you do have an air filter on the MAF? I know it sounds ludicrous but with SR's not having an air filter on the maf will effect how the engine runs.

Now with that out of the way. Are you sure you have the right tune on the ecu for your setup?
The other thing of the top of my head would be a wiring issue to your MAF. Which would possibly mean the ecu is going into fail safe running mode.

I have seen situations were the wiring on peoples cars for whatever reason tweaked and they lost signal to or from the MAF. Causing the ecu to not see a MAF signal.
If you had a Power FC and something like that happened you would not even be able to start and run your engine. As Apexi never put in the factory Fail safe mode in their ECU's.

I would get a test light and start testing for power signal to and from your MAF for starters and then trace backwards. You might also want to test the pin outs on the ecu as well.

FYI all cars will start and run without a MAFS, just very rich. I don't know if that is what you were implying or not.
