So I started assembling the block today...checked my clearances, they're all perfect, lubed up the bearings, installed the crank..But then I noticed something...

Is this even a KA24DE crank!? I have never seen the key slanted, like that. It spins smoothly and has no trouble whatsoever spinning...so I think it is the right crank, but that slant is confusing me.

And what is this..?

I think it goes into the timing chain sprocket..the one that bolts to the head.

that key is called a Woodruff keys, or a half-moon key, pull it out put it in the slot to make it straight.

Straighten the key as said. No big deal, it got bumped.

And yes, thats the bearing part of the timing chain part that bolts to the head.

Yeah I figured it all out lol. Im just paranoid.

Did anyone buy Supertech pistons? What did you have to gap the first and second rings to?

I did calculations and got 0.017 for the top ring, and 0.022 for the second ring. Just wanna see what you guys have done.

You did calculations or did you physically measure it?

I know if you look through turbo magazine's website they did a very detailed build of a ka and i believe they used supertech.
