Hi. I have a 97 s14 and my shift boot is loose. My center console is also loose. i tried removing it completely so i could adjust it, but i didnt know where to start. are there clips that are holding the console down? any help will be great. thanks.

here's what i did when i put my nismo knob on there n messed w/ the shift boot. just take a flat head screwdriver n use that around the edges to pop it out on all sides. it'll come right up n off. takes 2 seconds.

thanks for the advice. what if the piece to the left of the shift boot is loose? its the plastic piece left to it which runs under the hand brake. that whole piece is loose and i want to fix it. what can i do?

there are screws holding it down. Once you get the peice the goes around the shifter, and radio off, there are screw hoolding down the center console. Two infront of the shifter on top, two on the sides covered by caps, and 2 near the back of the console. Once all is removed, it should come right out. There are wires connected for the power stuff, but they are long enough if you move it around right.
