if there's a possibility that the 300zx has blown turbos i wouldnt bother its gonna cost big bucks to replace or rebuild them...... go with a 240.... besides its more fun n e ways

If you have a tight budget don't get a 300zxtt. You just won't beable to maintain it. Unless you do the work yourself the labor costs and the fact parts cost alot for it will kill you. If you buy a 300zxtt for $8,000 there will be repair's needed for it. On the other hand it is a 300zx and unlike nismos14 I liked the TT better then my S13 As for the 240sx, I'm sure you know the plus and minus's from looking around the site, light, handle's well, cheap. Minus's, lacks power. If you even have to worry about money issue's with a 300zx chances are it's not the car for you though.

The Z32 is definetly money hungry. It's an awsome car and even with all of the repairs I've had to do, I can't bring myself to sell it. It's a different experience from a 240sx. It came from the factory like a race car. You wouldn't have to do a thing with it to be happy with the power.....but if you want to and have the $$$ for it, it can be a beast.

so whats with 300s, y do ppl always say that they require alot of mantainance... im not worryin about the labor, i can do it myself... but if parts cost hella, that sux. i would love to have a tt... what about n/a's, are they cool, i know theyr not comparable to a tt, but still, theyr cheaper. im leanin towards the 240 right now, i know the car, im just a little frustrated with mine right now since i blew out the engine.

i love TT's but they are intimidating to work on. my best friend has one, had to replace 6 power steering lines to the rear of his car for the HICAS. i've never seen the spark plugs on that car, or seen him change them. everything that had to be done car was done by a pro. want to change your clutch? you have to take off your turbos. so if you have a lift, money and experience, go for it.

The thing about doing the work on a Z is that the engine is pretty crazy IMO. Parts are expensive and always on special order and I think generally it has some flaws all around the table. i.e. , leaky power steering, leaky t-tops and some other things that I can't think of right off. Some are great and don
t need many repairs but some are a PITA. Like James said, you can do the work yourself but there always seems to be alot involved (even changing PCV valves) and the engine is a huge difference from a 240SX. It's got alot of electrical connections and hoses everywhere and it's really cramped. With that said, I still won't sell my Z. It's just an NA but it's plenty fast for me. I've never driven a TT so I can't compare but I like the 4 seater better anyways.

Oh yeah, I've replace power sterring hoses, alternator, radiator and other things, so it can be done. It's just harder than usual.

i too used to own a NA Z32, i miss it. didn't have any maintence problems with it really. but the tt is a different story. injectors always seem to be a problem. just take one look under the hood of those things and you'll understand why it costs a lot to work on. plumbing on those things is the biggest mouse maze i've ever seen. while there are known negatives about the car, the people that have them love them. i miss mine. when i graduate and land a full time job i'm buying a tt. in summary, if $ is tight, get the NA.

i want my Z back................

During the one year that I've worked at the Nissan dealership, I have only seen two 3Zs getting serviced. I haven't owned one, but... I really don't see them in for repairs as often as it seems they would, from the way you guys speak of them.

Before my S14, I had a 'Teg, and before dat I have a '90 300ZX (N/A). Car wasnt fast at all ... the body is too heavy. So unless you get the TT model...I drove my friend's which had turbo...#### I didnt believe in the difference much more fun...made me feel like jus scraping mine lolz.
