I replaced my timing belt , tensioner, idler and the belt keeps slipping off away from the cam gears. Anyone have any ideas??

did you reinstall everything according to the FSM?

It states you have to turn the crank in the opposite direction or somthing like that.

Did you hook up the Tensoner spring correctly?

i put the spring on the top of the bolt so you have to turn it counter clockwise so it has tension. than i turned the motor over three times with the tensioner loose and than tightened it.

I know what you did only because I've done it before....Check the tensioner. I guarantee one of the coils on the spring got stuck behind the tensioner causing it to be misaligned with the rest of the pulleys.

The belt is so incredibly tight, even with the tensioner off, that I can't imagine it slipping off the gears. Idler/tensioner not bolted to the right hole?

everything is bolted in the right spot,.. spring is set up in right spot.
When i start the motor and let it idle, the belt stays on the back of the cam gears. once i start to give it gas for a few minutes, it just breaks loose and slides to the front of both cam gears in the matter of seconds. What is this..

fixed. forgot there was a washer that goes on the backside of the balancer to hold the belt ha
