nope not at all and if your scared to have it out on ur dash you can mount it under the dash and it will still work the same as mounted on the dash 100% legal

you are right on that and i dont know much about the valentine but this is in the top 3 for the best scanners and im not lieing its already saved me a few times from speeding tickets

You realize if you mount it under the dash its not going to do jack shit right? Where do you get off calling it a "scanner". Its a passive device, it only goes off when its is detecting a radar frequency or a laser (your fucked already if thats the case). It will not alert you of police hiding some where or do anything like that.

ya if the police are hiding with there radar on it will or there speed gun thats what its for and you can mount it on or under ive done both and it works the same so dont try and tell me about the stuff i own. Thanks

IDK SoCal, I worked a CCity for 3yrs as a car audio and electronic manager bfor they shutdown and that is a BALLER radar detector dont get me wrong, we tried them out and caught cops .6-1mile away, but putting it under the dash will deff affect how well it works... thats like saying that ur XM/Sirius antenna will work just as good under the dash... theres more material besides the windshield to go though now that its down there... It may cut it down to about .15-.3miles which is plenty of time, but it will affect it...

i know that it affects is but it still works and youll still have enough time like you said to slow down. but like you said its definitaly one of the best detecter

This is one of the best radar detectors around, good price too. I use the 9500ix for it's GPS redlight cam/speed cam detection, but the radar/laser detection is the same.

I always see cops before they see me. Totally worth $250 (I paid more than double that lol).
