My car is starting to burn oil. I can smell it out the exhaust and it smokes a bit.

Not sure if its the turbo or the engine. It only does it at idle, oil level isn't going down.

Need to check the catch can.

Is there a way to tell if it is the turbo? Its a Turbonetics that's only about 3 years old.

Take you turbo off and see if there's any oil leaking into the exhaust.

Can I check from the intake side and/or hot pipe?

really don't want to have to take the turbo off.

Charge Pipes/Intake Side are all acceptable places to check for oil if the culprit is wearing/blown turbo seals.

Valve Seals could also be the culprit. I'd start from the turbo/catch can inspection and go from there.

Any more information on the specifications of the turbo could help as well...

From my experience of blowing turbos, blown turbo's only smoke when you let off the throttle after boost and smokes like hell.....

Just do a leak down test and call it a day... You can tell where your problems are from it.... Compression test will tell you something about it, but check your spark plugs if it is oily and compression test to see if it is compression ring..... oily plugs is not a good sign....

Take off the downpipe and check there.
