Well, i have a s13 w/ silvia front end for about a year now, and at night on narrow roads, people on the oncoming traffic gets ****ed off at me and start to turn on their high beams at me because they think i'm truning my high beam on at them or something. tonight i've finished a 4 day long project of sleepless nights (school in the morning, work at night, only time to work on my car stuff is the time i sleep) i've got a LHD silvia headlight!!! weee :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

so now i'm pondering, for all the s13 silvia owners out there, does the RHD beam pattern bother you? I'm just wondering because if people are interested, than i'll be interested to make a mold that produces the LHD beam pattern so people can do it on their car.

sorry no pics, i should have it by friday

i'll bite. I've got a front end laying around I want to use but have not been paying attention to the aim of the lights issue.

Can you explain more about what you changed?

Are we speaking about the projectors or non-projectors.

If its the projectors, there's already a fix and costs no money to the owner.

If this is for the non-projectors, you have my attention. Post some pictures and mention prices.

I was told by Daniel Stern (the lighting guru) that no such modification is possible to the existing lense on the non-projectors. This is quotes from an email he sent me:

obverted the prisms that
cause the beam to rise to the left, leaving you with a straight-across
beam cutoff (which is commonly done in Europe when visiting wrong-side
countries, but which SERIOUSLY compromises headlamp performance!) then
that's just not a possible thing.l

I have heard that Clearcorners.com modified a set of S15 headlights for LHD use. Contact them and see if they would be willing to modify a set of S13 non-projectors.

As far as modifying the projectors, there is a little metal plate that needs to be rotated. The fix is as simple as that (with the headlights taken apart of course).

just open up the headlights, flip the halogens over (entire assembly), and close em up again!! hahaha ;)

You will notice that on the top edge, one side slopes down. You will need to rotate that piece so that the slope is now on the opposite side. This obviously cannot be done unless the headlight is taken apart.

AHHH, this is crappy... but when you flip it, is the cutoff still sharp?

i heard about the RHD thing, i also got the silvia front projectors. i really can't tell the difference since my radiator support is bent and one of my headlight is lopsided. since everybody in my city likes to drive with high beam like a whole bunch of retards, i really don't have to worry about ****ing people off since they **** me off already driving like that normally.
