I always wanted to know where do you buy new pads and rotors for this stuff?

07-30-2010, 10:42 AM
The photographs on their site show that it's 4 and 5 lug compatible but all literature says 5 lug ONLY.

I called in to confirm and they informed me that the center hub accepts 4 and 5 lug bolt patterns :D.

I just bolted this kit on my S14 this season. I was thoroughly impressed with every component. High quality stuff. And of course, great performance. Overall, this is a killer product.

Also, what kind of master cylinder is recommended with these brakes?

12.4 lbs per rotor!!!

08-04-2010, 10:36 AM
are they ever going to make a rear bbk with e-brake integrated???

08-04-2010, 11:58 AM
Most companies who I have spoke with in regards to a rear BBK have informed me when you run a rear BBK in conjunction with the front BBK it throws the brake bias off on the 240SX. As such a front BBK is typically the only option from most quality companies.

Kognition:
On hold with them now :)

UPDATE: They informed me that to do the 6 piston upgrade you would need to upgrade the full kit to be able to fit it(ie. rotors etc etc). They also informed me the clamping force between the two calipers is not that much of a difference.

Robert

No problem. I wasen't trying to thread jack or anything and I know it's not the kit you are offering but it will give some people like myself piece of mine when they can see it on the car. I went with the 6 pot kit for upcomming plans I have for the car.

12.4 lbs per rotor!!!

Regards,
Robert

You beat me to it. I will post pictures of the rear of the rotor and how my buddy did an awesome job of safety wiring the rotorhat screws. My set also has no clearance issues with my Work VS-KF's and or the Work XD-9's I'm running. The VS-KF's are currently being powder coated but I can throw pics of the clearance up as well.

Also, what kind of master cylinder is recommended with these brakes?

Robert is on point about the master cylinder, having that said for the upcoming project a larger master cylinder was sourced for the upgrade.
I will post pics later this weekend along with the others.

MVP is the shit, and these are a great set of brakes. GL with your sales Robert.

S14 5 lug price shipped to Dallas?

What BMC is recommended, 15/16" or 1"?

Would the bias be thrown off using the Wilwoods with 300ZX rear calipers? I'm seeing conflicting opinions and I find it hard to believe since so many people use front and rear 300ZX calipers.

I finally got back from a work trip. Here is a pic with the 6pot kit behind Work XD-9's 18x8 +35 daily's. These have zero clearance issues. As stated before by the OP the red PC finish was an extra charge so keep that in mind. If you need a closer picture PM me. Oh and buy from these guys!

Correct me if I'm wrong but as long as a TUV shop is installing the item you will be ok? I'm here in GE, and have the same kit, passed for the last 3 years. you should be fine. Go to your nearest TUV station and ask.:2f2f:

Whattttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt that's a good deal! get on this people! Too bad they don't do a rear set up using the stock ebrake setup or do they?:cops:

10-25-2011, 12:49 PM
No rear kits at this time :(. My original rep pretty much just told me what is on the site is what you can get. Our new rep who is actually an X 240 owner informed me that a 6 Pot can be added no problem using all 4 pot components, just a caliper swap. $300 bucks MSRP for a major upgrade is a steal!

This BBK is made to work with OEM Master cylinder. As for the weight of the rotor assembly I'll get that for you shortly!

Regards,

Since you bumped this thread, I have a question.

Does this BBK increase the braking force compared to OEM? It doesn't make sense when you mentioned this BBK is made to work with OEM master cylinder when the rear brakes are pretty crap.

Shouldn't there be a front brake bias when this kit is installed/

06-11-2012, 09:09 AM
The braking force I'm sure remains the same as technically you are only adding more pistons, larger caliper and rotor setup etc. Braking performance is increased due to a larger diameter rotor and caliper. You now have more pistons applying pressure on a larger pad surface.

Nearly every manufacturer who makes a BBK designs it to be used with stock components. The rear is rarely upgraded as Brembo said during testing doing a rear upgrade decreased overall brake performance.

Robert
