I was wondering your opinions on this.

Im stripping my interior right now and the only thing left is the metal frame under the dash and its components (wiring, climate, vents, etc). It looks complicated and this is my first actual car breakdown. Well there is some surface rust along most of this metal frame so I did what I could with a wire brush, brillo pads, and sandpaper but I simply cant get into some places. I bought rustoleum rust reformer and some primer and I have been painting this on with a brush with some pretty healthy coats.

Is this okay? Im planning on keeping this car for some years to come and want to be as thorough as I can be restoring the interior. Should I just nut up and take the whole thing out and sand it and spray it properly? Or is this okay?...

thanks guys!

Unless its a drift car with no dash, I wouldn't worry about cleaning it. It's just surface rust and I've NEVER seen one rust through. Mine I'm just spray bombing black and calling it a day.

That piece is rusted on every 240. They aren't tough to remove, but the way you're doing it should work just fine.

that bar having some surface rust is no big deal. if you feel like cleaning it up and painting it, do it, i'm doin the same thing. it's just my own preference. If you really wanna get it clean before painting it, pull it out and do it, it's a lot easier. you can even go the extra mile and sand blast it then paint it.
