okay so i bought my first 240 not knowing the motor had a knock, ordered a new motor and installed it with the wiring harness that came with the car. everything was the same except the tps on the new motor was a three wire and the old motor and harness was six. car starts and idle without any hiccups, but when you give it gas it cuts out, and when it hits boost it gets choked up. MAF is working properly, injectors are all operating correctly, new ngk's gapped to .29, and a new fuel filter reading 32 pounds of fuel pressure.
im wondering if anyone is having the same problem, and has found a solution that can help me

aside from the wiring, check for boost leak, everywhere...

sprayed carb spray anywhere that could leak, vacuum or boost and no changes in rpm's. if anyone knows what a faulty tps acts like or can tell me what a good running sr runs like with it unplugged i would appreciate it. i individually unplugged each of the injector plugs, maf sensor also and it ran like shit as expected. any knowledgeable person from iowa that could be of some assistance would be awesome, besides who doesnt like meeting fellow fanatics

Boost leak or check coil pack harness.

i unplugged each coil pack harness and it just ran like a misfiring sr. im gonna put the original six plug tb and tps back in. its difficult to type all the things we''ve tried, but im sure thats typical.

and its not a boost leak, although it is reading 17 psi vacuum, and only 5 pounds peak boost, but i assumed thats due to the missing and lack of consistent rpm's since everything seems to be airtight.

im wondering if there is any descrepancy with using the six wire auto tb/tps even though i have a manual, this is how i purchased the car, which ran fine other than the knock. i now have the manual tps wired into the same harness and found info telling me what wires go where, which would be helpful if the wires all remained factory colors... so im unhappily tracing the wires to see which ones have been changed to which color. for now i think im just gonna wire the auto harness back up and making adjustments with multimeter, troubleshooting is a bitch

sounds like a boost leak or iacv cicuit could be bad...or the grounds to engine
mine did that with a boost leak and dead iacv switched power

turned out to be a poorly adjusted tps and a loose hose clamp on the fuel pump
