100w in Brick housings?

Anyone have experience with 100w bulbs in Brick headlights? I'm rewiring my harness so I'm running new thicker gauge wiring and creating my own relay setup. Just want to make sure I'm not going through this work just to melt my housings :)

100w is A LOT of heat, and not needed IMO. you will be more satisfied with HID retrofit, or if ur gonna be cheap about it, just plug n play HIDS.

Not interested in HID's it ruins the old school vibe u get from the bricks in the first place. Event with 55W bulbs the brick headlights give poor visibility. I think 80-100W might be sufficient.

If it bothers you to get HID because it doesn't "KEEP WITH THE VIBE OF THE FEEL OF THE OLDSCHOOL", go with 3k Yellow HID.

Anyway nobody really seems to know from experience so... I'll try and and let u guys know if the housings melt, then we can all point and laugh together.

well let me tell you this.. hids get pretttyyy fuckin hot you should be fine. if anything you should be worreid about hids melting it lol. but really you should be fine you have like what 2 spots for bulbs right?? high beams low beam on at same time if needed possibly?? i had 85w in my prelude it was fine.
you cna still get like 4-5 k hids.. it wont look like you have hids but youll still se ALOOTT better. (my buddy has them in his car tey are jsut plain white)

HID all the way for me.. High Wattage Xenon bulbs just don't cut it for me and scattered beam or not its all about visibility. I ran this On my 240sx, Armada, Eclipse and will never go back. Main issue I have with High wattage bulbs is that they will eventually mess your bulb harness with so much heat.

Hid's in bricks look scattered and do not show a defined line of site for correct line pattern. And from experience from a friend, those 100watt bulbs seemed to really fog up the lenses. At times the inside of the lenses became smokey from all the heat. I would go for a 4300k HID my self to keep a close comparison to oem bulbs but still have more lumens. There are kits that have specially designed bulbs with reflectors to cast a specific beam much like OEM projector style housings.
