So I've done my researching and went ahead and attempted to un gunk the tensioners. I did that and was more than sure they moved freely. Assembled everything and put it back together. Worked fine, no tick at idle or start up. Too good to be true right?
Hopped in the car, backed out, no noise. Sweet. Put it in gear and tick tick tick. The noise isn't as loud anymore and is only there when i'm starting to get on my way. When I hit my cruising speed of 45 or 55 mph, it's very feint. Is it possible I didn't free them up enough? Possibly the oil pump also? Or have the tensioners reached a point where they cant be saved and should just be replace?
I'm not running an oil pressure gauge. I know I should at this point but is there a way to trouble shoot it without buying a full gauge set up? Money's tight in prep for a wedding.
Any help's appreciated. Thanks.
