Is anybody from the forum planning on competing in the G1GP even on August 20th? It's the day before the August Matsuri starts at Ebisu circuit, and it will be held on Nishi Short Course @ Ebisu. VERY fun track! There will be a practice day on the day before the event. The fee for competition is 15,000Y. This includes a nice BBQ for everyone after the event! Last round they handed out some D1SL licenses to the top 3 drivers!!! I will be competing, as well as my friends Chris and Kaliko. So far there will only be 3 Americans competing, along with a bunch of Aussies and Europeans. So if your in Japan, sign up and make this event FUN!...there will be some REALLY good competition! I am told some guys who drove in the Red Bull World Drift Championship will be competing!

Not gonna make matsuri this summer (to drive) or G1GP. Definately wanna do a matsuri/or drive ebisu in general but can't afford it right now. Debating right now if i'm gonna try to ride up to matsuri w/someone or just not go (everyone that goes w/out their car hates life for months till the next matsuri).

I am going to be in Japan during this and I'm wondering if it is spectator friendly. Would love to come out and see the races if all possible.

sure its spectator freindly. good luck telling a cab driver how to get there...or even being in the nearby area to get to matsuri. its in the middle of the mountains lol

Yes, the event is spectator friendly. I think its 1,000-1,500Y to get into the track for the day as a spectator. There will be a BIG bbq after the event. I think you can pay about 3,000Y to get in on the BBQ/drink fest. Get in touch with Andy from Powered Vehicles...he does tours and rents cars at the track, so he would be your best resource for getting detail on anything Ebisu related.

The Cefiro is lookin beastly...
He threw 255 up front with a fat roll and because he is Ken there is now a chaser lip on the front bumper..it actually looks good.

Fuck...I wanna make the trek to mainland for Matsuri, buddy of mine has been asking me to come up, looks like it wont happen again...wife's sister is gonna be down here in Oki so I cant bail out.

Fuuuuck im going as a spectator cause im visiting family in japan right now, do you think if i showed the cab driver the little map on the Ebisu pamphlet he would know how to get there?? I can speak japanese pretty well and im going via train btw.

do it. tell him its a zoo and a racetrack, and tell him its in the mountains, if hes a cab driver from around that area he will probably know about ebisu, since its a zoo and a race track. lol

haha the cab driver had no problem i just said ebisu circuit and he knew right away. Was fucking awesome, watching daigo saito and that guy with the r32 tandem on minami was the most insane shit ive ever seen

Wow! That was an AWESOME event! Best 15,000Y I have spent on a drift event in a LONG time (asside from matsuri's). 7 Tune has some coverage up, check it out!
