what makes you think 40000 miles is just an ungodly amount? engines dont just "blow" cause of their milage, the blow to lack of maintence. all engines will take care of you as long as you take care of them, no matter what series, brand, make, model, liters, whatever.

My SR has 50k miles and still runs strong with no problems and doesn't even burn oil , Just like he said as long as you maintain your engine properly it will treat you better then your WOMEN! and 40k on a RB25 its basically still kind of a virgin Nissan does know how to make strong reliable I6 think back to the old school 280z, the one i had a few years ago finally blew a little bit past 200k.
