I will start with a little background information. My daily driver (2002 Camry) still had its Original battery on and I decided to get it checked (at both kragen & autozone), they both said the battery was bad and should be replaced soon. I also had the starter and alternator checked and they said it was ok. The car was perfectly fine, but I thought I should replace the battery because it was 8 years old.
So i purchased a battery (group 35, which is the correct one for this car) at costco and put in the new battery.
I start the car, the car starts but the tach & speedo jumps up to like 3/4 all the way up. Then the car stalls. I start the car again and after 3 to 5 seconds the car stalls again. I did this about 4 times. I took the new battery out, and put the stock battery back in and it is still starting and then stalling. The only way i can keep the car running is to rev up the car, but as soon as i let go, the RPM's drop and the car stalls.
Now this is not the first time I have changed a battery, but this is the first time this has ever happened. Anybody have any ideas as to what happened?
Thanks for your help.
****EDIT***
Nevermind, I sort of fixed the problem. Its some weird toyota camry thing (or as I read a OBDII thing) where you have to help keep the car alive so it can learn its idle again. But now its just idling really low, but at least it does not stall.
