Is it the starter thats clicking, or the accessorie relay clicking off. Have someone turn the key while you listen from outside the car.

Inside the car, the relay clicks louder than the starter solenoid.

the fuel pump cmes on, the starter pops out and then doesnt spin...

If your starter works and is clicking, then your motor is seized, unless the main wire going from the battery to the starter has poor continuity.

Could be a bad ground as well. Heres a couple things to try. Have someone put turn the key while you hold a wrench so its touching the battery terminals and the wires. If any of these works clean the terminals.

no the motor isnt seized. when we put a socket on the crank pulley, we can turn the engine with great ease as it should. starter clicks out but doesnt spin...for somereason.

oh and they dont dim. :-D

heh, i shouldnt edit so much

Ok, if they dont dim that points towards bad continuity. You could try putting a volt meter on the starter terminal that goes to the battery, and ground it on the engine. If it drops a lot when you start, like down to nothing, bad continuity.

bad continuity... would that mean that the starter has the power to pop out but not enough power to spin the flywheel? and if so how do i fix bad continuity?

Yeah, most likely corrossion on the terminals.

Replace the battery cables! Hell everything else is replaced.

My Late Mom always said...if all else fails, replace the battery cables..and those are words of wisdom...good advice...and did I listen and take advice from mother? Damned right, she was a hell of an engineer. Knew things I am just beginning to pick up on.

Listen to my Mom!

make sure the plug to the ECU is screwed in tight!

my starter did this same thing when I did my swap. After having the starter tested and repalcing the relays. It turned out my brand new battery just didn't have full juice. Charge that battery again, clean up your terminals (dr pepper works well) double check your grounds and try again.

No, the ECU has absolutely nothing to do with this. Its an issue of only a small amount of power getting to the starter, assuming its good, so its cables, corrosion, or a weak battery.

If you have spark and fuel and still no fire, check the timing.

what is the timing supposed to be at and how do i check what it is at since i cant use a timing light?

If your sure the starter is good check voltage at the starter. I think your battery is weak or the terminals or cable/connections are corroded. I,ve been there.

you need to set your engine on TDC and then make sure your crank angle sensor is in correctly. quite often crank angle sensors get messed with at the yards in Japan. If that has happened then your engine will not start because your timing is off. Also check to see if your getting power to your injectors. Check to see if fuel is reaching them as well. These are all basic swap install issues, knocking them down one by one should have your engine up and running soon.
