Here is the story. I have a r33 skyline gts with a R32 RB26 with a full race gt35R kit that ended up making a little over 460rwhp. The car was tuned and drove completely fine with the neglect of a small oil pan leak from the front of the motor. Now rather than checking the oil level like i should have knowing the problem, i took off like a bat out of hell trying to tune my boost controler. Now after repeated redline 8000K puls on the highway, the motor just let go :(

I have purchased a (new) JDM used R32 motor and now started reading about this crank collar crap and am wondering what really happened? The motor is out of the car and rb25 oilpan is already swapped onto the new motor and am about to order the N1 oilpump.

My theory on JDM motors is that if you crack anything outside of the valve cover, it will never run in the same reliable way. I dont want to take the crank out of the motor cause then u never know when the $3K i just spent will just end up in the dumpster like the previous motor. It is a street car that i use only on the weekend, but i do love the strip as well as pulls against exotics reaching speeds over 140mph. What do i do with this oiling problem? Is the N1 pump with a 7K redline set by me enough to keep this new motor healthy?

So you ran the engine out of oil which killed it, and your worried about the crank collar?
Sounds like you need to worry about sealing the oil pan.

You should read up on the Pros and Cons of the N1 Oil pump as well.
as well as why the Crank Collar is a problem

well thats my theory at least that i ran it out of oil, it could me that crank collar crap. I am doing a lot of reading, and anything above the N1 pump is above 1K that i dont have. This turbo build drained me so $$$$ dry that i charged this new motor on the card as well as the oil pump that i am getting. The car ran for 3 weeks after me finishing the build and a tune by jeff evans. Here is a little vid.

well what was the oil level after it died?

Usually high RPM's and bouncing after the Rev Limited will kill them.

the N1 pump will cause the oil to pool in the head causing the pump to cavatate, so either install Tomei Oil restrictors or install an extra drain in the back of the head
