I picked up a digital dual cam cluster from the junk yard and swaped it out. Everything worked(whoo!!!), but noticed when driving that the tach is very slow and dosent seem to read quick enough. Ex- rev to 3k rmp and still trying to climb up when at 2200 rpm. My question is that can i replace the tack ( motor in cluster housing) with another dc tack and work? Not a big electric wiz but by looking at both they seem the same, will this work?

Yea you can swap the tack from your analog cluster to your digital cluster. the lines on the tach wont be completely flush with the trim piece though, but it still works.

an analog dohc tach will work but you either have to trim the needle with a nail clipper or trim the bezel. just find a way to clean out and/or fix the hud tach.
