Bumper modification for IC

I plan to obtain an aftermarket inctercooler when I do my swap. Do I have do do anything major to the bumper such as taking out the support? Any major cutting? Can I do this myself? What is exactly involved. I've searched. Thanks

Which intercooler?

For my GReddy VSPL, I had to cut basically the WHOLE core support between the mounts...

^^^ The intercooler end tanks are right at the crash bumper mounts...

^^^ Cut the back off, trimmed the top and bottom...

^^^ Doesn't look like much, but you remove a lot.

And notice, you lose the SE foglights...
