integra type r or s14 silvia

dude, is this rite, the j spec integra type r can smoke a j spec s14 silvia?  the silvia took it off the line, but once vtec hit, the type r passed it up.  someone make me feel better.

dono, 200hp? vs 215 or so...should be a close race.  Were they both stock jap specs?  and I'm pretty sure the type r weighs less cauz its FF instead of FR and probably lighter in other areas too.  If they are both stock and the type r "smoked" it I would say the s14 driver isn't as good, but if it was fairly close it makes sence.

should be a close race.  The type R is like 2500 lbs, s14 is like ~2900   Both have LSD and the FR platform loses less HP in the Drivetrain.  Can definately happen.  Very possible with equal drivers the teg would win.

I thought that "race" was a bit suspicious when I first saw it. The Type R isn't exactly a drag monster, but beats the Silvia by several car length at the end, even after the Silvia takes a good car length at the 60ft mark.

The type R does have Vtec but the s14 has turbo. But the type R I think has a higher rpm range I think it's like 8,000 redline which helps a lot. Still not so sure that even that in a FWD would take a s14 RWD. I have to see it in person and know the drivers know what their doing before I completly trust that.

Not to sound like a jerk, but I saw a video on the net of a honda civic Si beating a Dodge Viper. I should surely buy a civic instead of a Viper, right? Wrong. just because you saw it on the internet doesn't make it good information. I would even say that anything you learn on Zilvia.org should be taken with a grain of salt because you probably haven't met most of these people before. I think that the integra would ussually win. I drove one that we had at the dealership that I work at. However, it is not nearly as fun to drive, and not as easy to safely swerve through chicago traffic with as the 240sx is.

it could be a 94 240sx which in japan had that body, the s14 came out over their a year early and which carried the same motor as the s13.. which means having only 205hp at the motor... so the integra had an advantage.. and if you have seen as many of those videos as i have you would know that the driver in the silvia does suck.. &nbsp;he ran a 14.3 in a skyline while another driver took the same car and ran a 13.9. &nbsp;

BTW, not related to the topic really, but the S14 isn't a pig - it weighs a little over 2700 lbs, not 2900. &nbsp;The ITR weighs only about 50 or 75 lbs less, at 2640.

it was a video from japan, all j spec cars. &nbsp;it was kinda a documentary on hondas and acuras. &nbsp;they were both stock, and the silvia got taken by a few car lengths in 3rd gear i think. &nbsp;i was sooo hurt.
