Ok so my car is in the shop and I had my battery moved to the hatch and now they say my battery will not hold a charge. The battery is brand new along with the alternator. Any ideas somebody can share? Thanks

Maybe the positive cable is making contact with the body and draining it?
Not sure what else it would be....
BTW, if that't the case, that is really dangerous.
Do you have a fuse on the + cable? You should have 100+ Amp fuse inline on the positive cable within a foot or so of the battery.

I don't think the + is touching the body and I would have to call the shop and ask about the fuse

The battery is grounded in the front of car still and I can check the alternator fuse. If there is no fuse on the + terminal Is that guaranteed to be the problem? Thanks

Make sure there's not corrosion on the battery terminals.
I had some that prevented my battery from charging properly as well as draining the battery slowly.

Ground the battery in the rear. There's no point in running that ground wire all the way up front.
If it's not something you can easily figure out this is what you should do:
1. Make sure you give the battery a good charge
2. Make sure the car is off and the key is out
2. disconnect the positive (+) battery terminal
3. Get a multi-meter set to read milliamps and connect the red to the battery cable and the black to the battery terminal.
If it reads more than 35milliamps, there is a parasitic drain somewhere. Start pulling fuses while watching the multi-meter. When the parasitic drain goes away when you pull a fuse, that is the circuit that has a short somewhere. Check that circuit.
Happy hunting.
