i dont wanna hi jack the thread, but i heard if you put 18's on, you're going to have to recalibrate the speedometer, do i just go into an auto shop and have them do it? or do i do it some other way?

it really won't if you get rims and tires that have about the same diameter as stock. But even if it changes its not much maybe like 2mph or so. There are calculators for this stuff. search in google.com.

I haven't seen good reason to go to a wheel that large (or even 17" for that matter) from a performance standpoint. What you do with a huge wheel is take the heaviest part, and shove it waaaay out from the hub, requiring a great deal more torque to get the wheel itself spinning. If you have huge brakes that require it, by all means.
Since it seems you are asking for opinions here. . . Everything below this point is opinion, so if you flame me, I'm going to laugh at you for being a moron and arguing opinions. :P Also, keep in mind you are entitled to your own opinions. Plus, I really don't give a damn what you do with your car. . .
Aesthetically, I despise huge wheels with little bitty tires. Makes the car look unbalanced, and definitely does not sit well with the lines of the 240sx. They seem to detract from the otherwise solid look of the car. Despite all of this, the thing I dislike most about huge wheels is when you only see little bitty brakes through the monsterous gaps. Wee bitty brakes and a lot of dirty suspension components, woopdie doo. All in all, I just find bling bling rims to be some sort of dub-t status symbol.
Then again, htis is all just opinion. I don't judge you for your wheels :-)

I think if you are going for show qualities that is good for you to have 18's. Now if you want to have it as a regular daily driver car I wouldn't do it. 18's are just to bulky and take away the fun handling the 240 has. Even going to 17's was a pretty big change in handling. Plus I agree with misnomer about the brakes. If you get bigger rims you should get bigger brakes with it. The stock brakes look to small unless your rims cover them up a bit. Mine do that's why I never upgraded.

i think they're way too big. personally, i wouldn't go with anything over 16's, like some r32 gt-r wheels.
mmm.....r32 gt-r wheels.... :yum:
