Visiting Shanghai China for 5 weeks

So I'm leaving 4th of July to shanghai. I'm returning august 6th. I'm teaching english out there for the time. I'm gonna visit the world expo 2010. I'm also gonna stop at the autobac in shanghai.
Any other cool place anyone knows about in shanghai? What can I buy in shanghai that's cool to bring back?

dont even bother with the autobacs...if the one in stanton is weak as hell what do you expect from theirs? ive heard the shaghai and tawainese autobacs are jokes...prepare for the familiarity of pep boys or autozones...

PLEASE be prepared to wake up at 5am and wait in lines all day at the expo unless if you are a senior citizen or have vip passes...but while youre there, take many pictures and post them here! =)

beware of pickpocketers... theres lots of them, they are good at it and work in teams. When i went to shanghai a couple summers ago, i got pickpocketed twice, but luckily i caught the 2nd one. do not use the Jansport backpack with that pocket in the front.

so im out here right now in shanghai. Im going to the expo this tuesday, so thats monday in the states. The guy who sets up the teaching english camp out here already bought us our tickets. I will make sure to take tons of pics. I bought locks for my backpack so it will be pretty hard to get into it. I keep my wallet n passport in my front cargo pocket buttoned up.
Im going to downtown shanghai to sight see on Thursday, hitting the Bund, and anywhere else interesting. Any ideas of cool spots where I can find electronics would be great thanks.

Yeah fuckin' mosquitos out here are bitches. i have like 15 bits. But everyone is living like kings out here. The pijiu=beer is not half bad, and for 33 cents a 600ml who can complain. We r getting our sippy sippy on every night. I had a small hangover the other day, and had to teach mornin' class, "kids, today Im going to teach you what a hangover is!"...lol...
Yeah, Expo is fricken crazy, everyday a quarter of a million people enter and leave expo. :eek2:Its like a mini city in itself, and see other people from different parts of the world is a bit releaving from the usual asian faces.

BTW: Belgiun Fries are bombski!! If you ever have the chance to try them dont pass up the opportunity.

I think drinkin with all the peps has made this trip 70% funner. Playin kings cup, some pulled a J, new rule, everyone talk with a lisp. FACK!!

Lol.. Yeah everyone was drinkin that night... Today I went to the Luwan province in Shanghai and stopped at an American diner call... Something.. Hollywood. They had a 2 1/2 burger challange under 10min. Shit was intense, had to eat the fries with that shit. Let's just say I'm on there wall of champions there and just saved 100yuan=14 bucks.
For everyone else wondering about the expo: I was able to go 3 days and everyday is something new. I can't load pics at the moment cause i'm on my iPhone right now an don't have a laptop.
I'm planning on jumpin on the metro again to go to the Autobac out here.
Is anyone familiar with the metro system in shanghai and to get to this address:682-696 Yindu Road, Min Hang Qu, Shanghai

I road the metro to downtown already so I know how to get back home, I just need to know the route to get there

So I found these little key chain guys and I figure hell why not. If anyone wants me to buy u one let me know. There are a bunch of doraemon shit out here for cheap too. I can get there bear keychains in different style: terminator, joker, spiderman black/red, uncle Sam, purple bull, Micheal Jackson, glow in the dark, and many more just ask maybe I will see it. I'm just gonna buy a bunch and put them in my car so any request just ask.
