Just a thought, but the post whoreing is getting out of hand.  Not 3 months ago when I joined, they would close down posts for shit like that.  I mean, chatting is fun, and being off topic is always welcome, but it's getting rediculous.  This is a 240SX CHAT..  I love the way Zilvia is more laid back than other forums, but there has to be a limit.  The topics should still pertain to the 240sx in some way.  

Sorry about the rant.  Just thought I would say whats on my mind.

Post Whoring has nothing to do with off topic posts. &nbsp;It is simply posting several small posts in one thread.
It could be quoting someone and then the only words you say are &quot;ya what he said&quot; &nbsp; or something like 1 post about buying something then another post about it shipping, then a third about it being late.
Next, where does the line between 240 related and unrelated lie? &nbsp; &nbsp;Would it be ok to talk about getting laid if i did it IN my 240? &nbsp; I mean...chat seems to be just that...chat. &nbsp;To keep us entertained. &nbsp;If you have a question that is so strictly 240...it belongs in tech.
It shouldn't matter as long as everyone is happy and everyone's questions are being answered.

Stop being so dictatorial....part of the reason this forum is cool is because you kind of get to know the other people...that can only be achieved by off topic chatting. &nbsp;If you want strict, on topic, flavorless technical jargon ...on to freshalloy with you. &nbsp;(They are assholes there)

I wasn't trying to be dictorial. &nbsp;I have no complaints with how &quot;off topic&quot; the threads can get. &nbsp;Christ, I don't even own a 240 - so how many of my posts do you think are going to be related? &nbsp;I love the chatter here. &nbsp;It's why I don't get any work done. &nbsp;=)

It was just a suggestion to help sift through some of the less sensical threads for those that might wish these things were seperate.

'Course, we could always have a chat room (here at Zilvia - there have been too many varied attempts elsewhere for any one of them to become the official chat room). &nbsp;That'd cut down on treating threads as if they were chatrooms, I guess.

But, again, not that I mind that either.

I don't think we're post whoring AT ALL. There are some topics that are fairly out of proportion, &nbsp;but they are usually quite hillarious, &nbsp;and bring us all some form of entertainment. Unless someone's trying to sell us used motor oil and/or is offending us all in a certain matter, I don't think we should close topics. Anyone agree?

VEGAS, the first crystal method album is the only album i have ever bought twice, one is in my changer in my room the other is in the car.

The new record Tweekend is fucking awesome, several of the songs have a long, long bass drop that last the entire song under the other shit...

the albums are very different but i'm feelign both

Disturbed makes no sense to me. Their beats are okay, but their words are shallow, as far as I'm concerned.

Linkin Park... as soon as I hear one of their songs, I think of Backstreet Boys with a guitar. They're more pop then rock/alternative.

I like things like Staind, Incubus, and above all System of a Down. Also, H.E.D. is a cool band, Tool is awesome... things like that.

you dont see me saying all those rock bands are gay &nbsp;cause i dont care i dont listen to it therefore i cant judge it and just cause i hear one on the radio doesnt mean i understand the culture nor the music.

ever notice how people or parents will point out all the swearing in a song but when they try to listen to the words they can't understand a thing? its because they are listening for the swearing. Don't condition yourself to follow the media.

uhh and technically if you go into a record store like music land or sam goody or whatever there is no hip hop section its all labeled rap.

thats just to target it to more easily influenced people so as to boost sales.

i never heard tupac say he represented rap every time he would say &quot;hip hop&quot; just cause he would use a gun or swear doesnt mean he was a gansta rapper.

ice t even came out in eletric boogaloo and was breakdancin

i dont think any gangstas would be breakin? he never said he was a gnagsta rapper the media just took it and marketed it to again boost sales.

just like someone can take a led nozzle squirter and put japanese writing on it to market it to kids who want to &quot;fit in&quot; its all adveritising and marketing. something that is from japan or the trend over there like drifiting etc etc

when you say people don't know about a music genre, i guess you are referring to the fact that i chose not to mention that i lived my life according to that music, that i spent my younger days, thinking that &quot;fuck the police&quot; really meant that a cops are bad and the feuds caused by gangster rap, not mainstream, but in real life, those fueds are real and often in times fueled by what some of these artists say,which leads into gang wars, which i regrettably was a part of, just because of what people say...i know that these artists don't intend to lead people to believe that guns, drugs, and violence is what they are all about but the fact that they glorify it doesn't help either...at one time at i was young enough to believe them, and thought that it was cool....i guess my only dispute is the content of what they say, not the language...now, i know you didn't post to bomb on me, and i probably shouldn't have been so vague...but i hope now you see that the &quot;gangster rap genre&quot; that i have lived with is something that i do not have respect for...i understand that it may be a way of release for some, but the words they say do have an impact on some people and the negative image portrayed is not one that i think should be tolerated...i hope i made myself clear...if not, we'll consider my post dropped and my apologies ...

You guys are pretty funny. Music/Media can have serious influence on people with little or no self-control. No offense, &nbsp;Arcane or any of you, &nbsp;but that's what it comes out looking like. People are different, each one in their own way. I can't understand how one could be influenced by music or television when we all know that both bear a certain degree of fantasy and falseness.

Irena, you are actually very right...usually music/media does influence people without self-respect for themselves...it is easier for people to attach themselves to a fantasy role model than a real life person...when i was younger i didn't have that many friends, i shunned my parents and pretty much was a loner, so when i heard certain types of music and found out the were associated with a type of group, then it was easy for me to fit in to that kind of lifestyle...since i have grown up and become a little more mature (not a lot) i've realized what i have become and what i did to my parents...my taste for the type of music immediately dissipated and i picked up the next genre to come along which happened to be rock...i guess my point is that just depending on your living enviroment and the amount of self-esteem you posses, it isn't that difficult to be influenced by fantasy or falseness...by the way, no offense taken...
