Rubber vs silicone hoses

Is there any difference in the two really?

Besides silicone hoses can come in a wider variety of colors?

I know that silicone can be more flexible, but more prone to leaks.

What's the pros vs cons of each? I'm pretty clueless on these.

Is it worth 30$ more for a full silicone hose set vs the oem rubber? The hoses are for my 951.

Silicone does in fact tend to leak more, and coolant will mysteriously vanish.

Yeah most truck hoses are silicone with rubber liner. Get the best of both worlds

I use the Samco silicone hoses and never had a problem.

ive used samco's for the last three years i guess they have been just as good as any oem they look nicer and such but i dont know if that warrants the extra cost.

I have been using OEM one for over 6years. never leaked never had problem.
have not tried silicon one but I'd rather stay with OEM one.

go with OEM, you will never have fitment issues and they work just fine....
