is the outline where the paint is faded or is it actual dirt that is making the outline???

is it glue residue or is the paint under the badge darker.  if its darker then your screwed cause your paint faded with the sun and the part under the emblem didnt cause its covered

It actually looks lighter where the badge was, but i got all the adhesive off with goo gone (not goof off). Maybe ill try some different stuff tomorrow, like the stuff that is meant to get rid of scratches. Any ideas on specific products would be much appreciated. If nothing works maybe ill live with it for a while. I need a paint job anyway. I have black paint if that makes any difference...

well it could also be that the glue messed up the paint somehow.

What badges?

If it's 240sx and LE... I want 'em! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

I want the 240SX badge if you want to sell 'em.

That sounds like it still has some residu left of the adhesive. Try this, get some bug and tar remover and cover the areas liberally (follow instructions). This will remove any wax and left over adhesive in the area. After that, was it real good to bring back the protective layer. (warning, this is just an idea, i havent tried it to remove adhesive myself, but it did a good job on the bugs and tar....could mess up finish).
Also, you could try a good compound to bring the two shades together......once again just an idea.

If its residue, i'd second using the bug&amp; tar remover if you already trued that goo-gone stuff.
If it is still there after that, I'd try a polishing compound; I found that the one from 3M works great with a buffer w/ a wool cover if you have one.

I think ill try the bug &amp; tar remover. Maybe i can get the use of a buffer. The badges are the &quot;240sx&quot; and &quot;SE&quot;. Im not sure if i want to sell them but maybe if the price is right... Thanks for the ideas
