so im planning to drive to from San Jose to San Diego next week (most likely monday) and im wondering if i should worry about my car getting pulled over. i don't get harassed in SJ with cops, but im just wondering if i should worry about driving in socal.

im at a decent height (i would say about 3" off the ground with 18" wheels). should i worry about driving through LA and SD?

as long as you don't drive stupid, you will be fine.

just don't worry about it.

I've done it twice no problem. Stay away from Chula Vista, Santee and Mira Mesa. Some people dont have issues, but LE have a higher presence in those areas from my personal observations.

as long as you dont act stupid cops wont pull you over, in chula what they mean by picky cops allot of hidden ones to get you speeding so just go the limit. not ones that get you for being an import.

Dont worry or think about and you should be safe. Just drive like you do in SJ and you should be fine...

What brings you to SD, if i may ask?

ive driven from seattle to san diego, stopping in SJ along the way. & on another occasion from here (SD) to san jose & then back. going the speed limit is always a good idea. however, i notice the flow of traffic is usually 10-15 miles over the speed limit... so thats what i do. depending on the time of day youre making the drive, make sure your cooling system is on par. the majority of the journey will obviously be highway, but youre likely to hit traffic around LA. almost no matter what time it is. there are some what mountaineous/hilly roads that are pretty fun even @ suggested speed limit, there's lots of 18wheelers so be mindful of those, as well as bikers since its summer. driving thru the 'dust bowl' (deserty terrain) is freakin boring. make yourself some cds or whatever. & if you get drowsy do us all a favor and just pull over @ a rest stop and sleep. thats what i did

I did a drive from San Fran to SD and I didn't have a problem either of the times I've done it other than morons trying to race. I prefer doing the drive at night since theres not so many cars on the road and I like driving through the fog. The heat also won't be a problem if you don't have a/c while driving at night. Just don't get caught up and drive like the many bad drivers in SD and you'll be fine.

thanks, i do drive the speed limit all the time and granny shift at 2k. i always obey the law while im driving (i even throw on the hazards when i go over rail road tracks) and i always signal when i do turns.

i do plan on driving at night and i usually go 80 on 5 just because it's obvious and a lot of people do it. when it comes to main cities, i drive the speed limit.

i'll be in the mira mesa area so i'll remember to be extra careful.

the reason why im going to sd is because im planning to move-in with my aunt and go to school (planning to go mira mesa community college) because i messed up on one class here. im 24 years old and finding a good paying job is kind of hard for me, so i went back into school so i can get a degree in computer science.

i just want to talk to my aunt in person to see if it's cool if i bring down my car parts (full kouki conversion and extra interior parts). if she says i can't bring anything down besides clothes and my computer, then i am forced to sell my kouki front-end.

shouldnt be too hard to sell a kouki conversion in the bay! yeah man, job economy sucks!! boo!!! if youre big into meets & all that, SD has meets just about every tuesday & thursday.

tell you the truth, there are WAY too many kouki conversions in norcal. i post on nor-cal240sx.com and the past two weeks, there has been about 4-7 members that joined with koukis.

i'll probably look into the sd meets, so i can introduce myself and would be a new neighbor in town.

I've made that drive tons of times, to and from Lukes shop (Blu808) and my place in the 626. Nothing at all to worry about on the drive (I tend to cruise 'pretty fast' since the LSx gets sweet mileage in 6th), I'd just worry about once you're in SD.

Keep a cool head, your car is on the line every time you drive it.
