So last night I tried to log into my account and I couldnt. Figured I must have typed in the password wrong and locked me out. No biggie, lemme reset the password...checked my email and nothing.
This morning, I logged into a computer that I've used before to make a purchase. It remembered the IP address so it showed my log in email...somebody managed to change it to something else.
Talked to an Amazon rep and had everything changed back. I changed my email password and my amazon one to make sure this shit doesnt happen again (different passwords).
Looked like they tried to make a purchase but couldnt as the way Amazon is set up. If you make a purchase and want it to be mailed to a different address, you'd have to put in the whole CC again. Since they didnt know the whole number, they couldnt make the purchase.
But the kicker now is that I got their email address, name and address...what can I do to get them back?!?! Better yet, if you have any idea...feel free to do so...

Actually, I'm pretty impressed...didnt realized how well they built their system to protect the account owners. I mean considering I fucked up badly (same PW for the account and my damn email), I didnt know they made changes to the account since they probably deleted the notification emails.
I'm just debating if I should change my CCs...All they got are the last 4s and expiration dates.

I would. Better safe than sorry and there's no down side to new cards.
At least notify you cc companies that it happened.

Fuck thieves. Press charges.
Any "stupid prank idea" that Zilvia comes up with is pointless and will most likely land you in trouble.
I got zero tolerance for thieves. Whether they steal cars or identities, I don't care.
They're low life scum. And they'll continue to do this or worse because they don't get "caught" or no one puts them in their place. You think sending some gay porn to his address is going to teach him a lesson? Please, the only lesson is jail time and fines.
BTW, who do you use for e-mail? I suspect he got in through there as I highly doubt he hacked Amazon. Either that or you stayed logged in on your e-mail/amazon account somewhere or you logged into to one of them on a computer with a key logger, or your password is seriously weak.

Contact the FBI. That's wire fraud and is a federal crime.
There's the Identity theft perspective to consider too.
Whoever, having devised or intending to devise any scheme or artifice to defraud, or for obtaining money or property by means of false or fraudulent pretenses, representations, or promises, transmits or causes to be transmitted by means of wire, radio, or television communication in interstate or foreign commerce, any writings, signs, signals, pictures, or sounds for the purpose of executing such scheme or artifice, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both. If the violation affects a financial institution, such person shall be fined not more than $1,000,000 or imprisoned not more than 30 years, or both.

What Gnnr and mrmephistopheles said.
Plus I doubt that is actually their real name and contact information, or the address they live at. However, they are good starting points to help the proper authorities try and track them down.

bronx eh? i COULD pay him a visit since he's somewhat nearby, but the bronx is like the ghetto part of the city and i'd get shot/run over/mugged/etc the second i step foot in there. the only safe haven in the bronx is Yankee's Stadium.

Go to the Authorities ...
Talk to Amazon Again .. See about getting his IP Address, or get something that can be given to Law Enforcement.
Amazon Track's Every IP that is used on each account .. They can pull a IP and Computer Signature from its History on your account.
But do not be surprised if it is someone in your area... Amazon is probably not easy to hack .. so my guess is that it would be someone around or in your work area..

MOTHERFUCKERS!!!
Somebody got my USAA debit card # and bought $600 worth of shoes from Zappos.com...:rant2:
Now its some
[email protected]**ot from Chicago...maybe I should google search my fucking CC# and see if something pops up...
Contacted Zappos and they already shipped out the merchandise, so they are contacting UPS to get it not delivered. Fuckers spent $60 on priority shipping.
USAA will credit me my money back in 24 hrs...thank God for having an awesome bank!!!
Yes I am getting a new fucking card...catch is I need it before I go TDY to fucking PA in 2 weeks...:mephfawk:
Hmmm. You better think long and hard about how they are getting all this stuff. Change all your cards (make sure they give you a new number). Don't forget to change your password and careful what computer you do it on as it may have a keylogger.
I would check my credit report too. Its free to see your report (not your score) once a year and is required by law. Here is the GOV website to do it at.
https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp
Now don't you wish you would have pressed charges? You can still do so you know, you have more info on him/them now...

Changed computer already, not checking bank related shit unless I'm at work (gov computer) or my wife's Macbook.
Getting new CC, changed all my passwords, checked credit report already and placed a fraud alert on my credit report.
No, I dont wanna press charges, I wanna make my lay over in Chicago longer to go on a shooting spree. Then again, I dont have an address for this one, just the one in NY

i'm sure you can get their info for the guy/gal in cali. just ask Zappo's for the shipping information. as a victim, you should have the right to know who's behind all this.
i've been ID Theft'd in the past, and the person used my info to fix his car at a shop, buy an airplane ticket to vegas or cali (i forget), and some other small shit. how? i don't know because he had a white name and i'm not (ethnic last name). the airline people i called up were able to give me his name and destination because i told them that it was a fraud. this was 4 years ago, and i'm still trying to figure out where this guy is.
Keith Brumschfield? Brumschfeld? something like that.
that phone number is a 415 area code that is either san francisco or Marin county in california.

It depends. I had fraud on my account about 4 years ago. I knew when/where my number was stolen at (Starbucks drive-thru near me. Guy took WAY too long with my card and looked shady as all hell). After making all sorts of trips to the bank and a ton of phone calls to the place the purchase was made at, I managed to get the name/shipping address. Lady on the phone said she shouldn't have given me the mailing address anyway because it's against company policy or some bullshit. Turns out the mailing address was just a few blocks away from me.
Even with all the information I managed to get, police still didn't do shit about it. I filed a police report and got nothing. Sick and tired of dealing with my local police department.

Report it and get these guys caught. But since since people are expecting something in the mail, send them a bag of sh*t - like literally, take a dump and put in ziplock bag and mail it to them.

Nothing really, I've filed complaints online and shit. So far nothing serious has happened to me, seems like banks and companies just brush off shit like this. Atleast that was my impression after talking to USAA and Zappos. "Oh, well just lose our merchandise if it gets to them before we can ask UPS to return it." Seriously, shrug $600 worth of merchandise like its nothing?
Make you have a mail box that is secured and destroy all of your mail and personal papers.

I am seriously contemplating on deleting my paypal account. Paypal sucks anyway and since my accounts are tied into it, its a fucking liability more than anything else...
Only reason I have it is so people can send me money for rims...
You could just change your password and remove the accounts so that its basically an empty paypal.
