on my s14 sr20 my wastegate is stuck open and doesnt close. It dosent rev paste 2300rpms and never hits boost. . Also the motor makes a very weird knocking sound and goes away when the oil is warm. Also when the car comes to a complete stop it cuts off.
I was wondering wat causes this and is the head shot?

If you already knew the wastegate has problem, whats the point of asking? Why dont you change the wastegate and start from there? The shut off problem might be because of dirty MAF.

should of done ka-t smh..
the knock is prob valve guide.
the waste gate try to spray some lub. and move it its prob a bad actuator. i think hks sells upgraded wastegate actuators..
as for stalling , if you have your wastegate vent to atm. its prob. because of that due to the maf not getting the correct reading for the air released.. you can ither re circulate it before the maf of get a safc and set decair settings..

fixed...dont think its a good idea to recirculate wastegate exhaust back into the intake lol
*you could also go blow thru with the maf

Because if you'd went KA-T this situation wouldn't have been possible ever....
Good luck with getting it fixed....just saying.

This has an easy fix man. You need to get an lsx. the bandwagon isn't gonna wait for you. your still on that 5 years ago sr bandwagon shit. Thats the real issue. fixing your sr is a bandaid. you should probably be rebuilding it right now.

Depending on the location of your BOV, it is probably pulling in air that is not accounted for by the computer. You aren't seeing boost because it is being vented to the atmosphere by the open BOV. Don't know on the ticking...probably shouldn't be doing that, though. ;)

Figure out if the flapper is stock open or the wastegate is whats causing it to stay open. If its the flapper, you probably just need to break it loose. If its the wastegate, find another and replace it.
If you already swapped out MAFs, double check the wiring and make sure you dont have a break somewhere. After that, pressurize the system and look for vacuum/boost leaks...sounds like you got them...
