I think they are pretty darn robust....especially there, because the pressure of the gas is not gonna be as high, since it is post-turbine.
I have some friends that use them that actually said after they heat and up and cool down repeatedly, if anything, they are actually DAMN hard to get off....which would be good for you i guess...

I'd sooner use a chop saw myself, makes for a nicer 'piece' to weld too.
However I'm confused to why you can't keep the stock gasket in...a regular 3" header gasket for a V8 and some copper RTV and new hardware/lock washers has always worked for me.

V-band style clamps seal extremely good. They work amazingly as long as you seat the gasket correctly and are waayyyy easier to install/remove IMO. That would be your best bet, but make sure both pieces are welded in the correct spot or it'll suck to try to install them.

Didn't want to make a new thread. This is the only one I found by searching so I figured I would bring this one back.
Does anyone else use vband on their exhaust? Anyone know of any cheap vband flanges that actually seal together? I hear that most of the vbands out there like the ones on ebay don't seal for shit and require a gasket. But some actually have a male/female flange that come together and don't require a gasket.

The cheap ones usually always leak, or have crappy hardware that ends up rusting to pieces or failing affter removal. Yuck.
