So I was comming back from delivering pizzas, in my mom's beater car, an unknown year Chrysler New Yorker. Its odometer is busted, so I put miles on it, not my 240.
Anyway... comming down U.S. 41 in Florida, the Tamiami Trail, and in the middle of the road is......
A FRIGGIN TRANSMISSION!!!
Sure enough I hit it, just dented some chrome in the boat, and bent a rim, so the tire is flat.
Then about 6 other cars run over pieces of it, and we all call the cops. They did nothing but give us a report number, and kick the transmission into the median.
I went back and got serial numbers off the output shaft, but I dunno if that will work, or even if I can try and trace the numbers to the owner of the tranny.
Any thoughts?
I'm just SOOOOOO happy it wasn't my 240, or it would be about 2 feet shorter.

Yeah the trail is pretty much the boonies. As far as the cops were they highway patrol or local. I bet they were local those guys are lazy as #### in most parts of FL.

highway patrol are hella dumb. I had a friend who got into an accident in the rain and right after the HP came, another car got into an accident at the same spot. The highway patrol left my friend and her friend (who had a broken leg at the time) to wait for the tow truck because he thought it was too dangerous for him to be there. Now there's some fuked up shiet!

#### where the #### were you delivering to be out on tamiami trail?

No no. In Venice and Sarasota, it is like the main road to go thru to get from place to place.
I didn't see it cuz I saw a car swerve, and then jump the tranny, so I swerved when he did, but still jumped the tranny.
As for which cops, it was both. But then they both left a little after.
It really sucks now. I have to pay my parents $900 to fix the friggin old New Yorker.
Then I went to the Cophers U-Pull-It. I found the K-Frame in the junkyard, and spent 3 hours pulling it. Then... The junkyard guy said "10 minutes"... like JunkYard Wars guys. Then I broke the only #### 3/4" socket on the last bolt. So now, I have all of the steering off, the engine unbolted, the struts off it, and ONE bolt remaning. Now the junkyard is one hour away, and I have to drive back with a breaker bar and a 3/4" impact wrench socket. (Break that, you bastard!)
But... if a red-neck loosens that one bolt and takes the k-frame.... imma kill him.
Simple. Dead. My 3.5 hours to get a $200 part, his one wrench turn... He will be ventilated and have new central air installed.
