My mods. s13 sr, s15 t28, mid mount ic, 3 " exhaust, 10 lbs (now set to 8).
Basically. The car idles fine. Will rev up and through the whole RPM range. When I am driving it will rev through fine. But, when Im in first and second gear and I go wot it gets a couple k up in rpms (tach isnt working not sure of actual rpm) then it just gags, power dies and if I hold it the car will make it act like its on redline popping and what not. It apparently will blow flame when this happens. Now I can normally drive all the way through all gears in all rpms but in those gears and sometimes third, it falls on its face. When I am cruising sometimes it burns my eyes like fuel or something but Im not sure.
Now I have regapped plugs to make sure they are at .28, readjusted the tps, timing, replaced 3 coilpacks and the harness, installed a mid mount intercooler setup which has no vac leaks, no exhaust leaks. ECU is not throwing codes. DOes anyone have any ideas what this could be or what to check?
Heres a clip of whats its doing...

You sure there are no vac leaks. It REALLY sounds like a small vacuum leak to me.... Check manifolds and gaskets and clean the mafs..... Remember to use MAFS cleaner only not brake or carb cleaner....

Check out my thread....I am having similar issues....think it's coilpack related....

Check grounds and fuel pressure.

I replaced my knock sensor. Pulled my intake manifold and clean the shit out of it. It did smell like fuel noticably when I pulled it off. I cleaned the IACV. I drove it. Got home pulled my plugs and now they all like normal except the first one which is clean and has a slight white haze on the band heres pics..

Btw the marks on the bands are from pressing it down to close the gap earlier today..

No they arent oily. I was told when the plugs is tanish like that its burning normaly as compared to it being white, black, melted ect.

Any fuel tuning done to the car? From the plugs it looks like your running lean. Like I said, do you have a fuel pressure gauge? I had a similar problem (though my fuel system is completely custom), and it was a clogged fuel filter. Under low load it would preform fine, but as soon as you put load on the fuel system it would chug a lot. Hopefully that helps. With a stock fuel system its an easy fix.

I have one we installed to see if it was getting pressure temporarily but the gauge was some pos so I took it out. The fuel tuning is just stock. I also have a walbro pump btw. Ive been running all this setup fine for a long time now its just messing around. Im going to check the injector pulses tomorrow

I've been trying to fix the same problem with my car. If I floor it while under 2000rpms it will pull hard intill around 3200 if I give it 50% throtle it will pull to about 3500rpms. Interestingly I tryed giving it just enough gas to slowly acellerate past 4000 and then floored it and it pulled hard till I let off the gas past 7k. I have a similar setup with a walbro pump/300z fuel filter/3" ex no cat/fmic, since I've been having this problem I'm not using my mbc so it's at ~8 psi.
Good luck finding something wrong! I've checked up and down for vac leaks, all my plugs look good, coil packs look new with no hair line cracks, and I've cleaned my sr maf with the maf cleaner spray. I though I found the problem when I noticed the two bottom nuts on my stock turbo elbow were missing (from hitting speed bumps) damn car is so loud I could'nt here an exhast leak. Still looking for the problem.........
