Alright so i have a 96 ka24de...nothing is done to the motor besides an intake. recently i removed the timing chain guides do the infamous ticking noise. after the guides were removed that ticking noise went away.
now there is a new type of noise. at idle the motor ticks slightly but as the rpms increase the ticking gets louder. i was thinking intake valve ?
im going to post a video up later so people can understand what im talking about. Thank you guys and any information is greatly appreciated !

i checked the oil and it seems to be pretty good. i may even have a little more in there than i should. i wonder if going with 10w-30 would be better

im running 20 50
the only way to get rid of any noises
just the car warm up a bit when you turn it on.
all my friends run 20 50
