whats the difference?

S15 GT28R is good to like 300
S15 GT28RS is good to like 350

GT28RS is the "Disco Potato." This is (well, was) a ball bearing turbo as well, but not the GT28RS. Great turbo for the money though.

ken the gt28rs is not a "Factory turbo" the gt28r is the s15 turbo "R" or not

i have the gt28rs

i don't understand the point of the post "just wanted to make sure nobody thought it was the spec r" ALL S15 sr20det's use the gt28r..

I assume this is Marques?

Anyway, thanks for the info- i was under the impression that the 28r was the "s" model, and the 28rs came on the spec r. Thank you for correcting me.

All OEM S15 turbos are the GT28R then, correct?

if you look up the part number on google, it comes back as a NON bb turbo. not sure how true this is.

TurboByGarrett.com - GT Basics / Nomenclature (http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/tech_center/gt_basics.html)

"Positions "zz" may be used to designate special features of a particular turbocharger where applicable

Example: GT2860RS
"R" = this is a Ball Bearing unit
"S" = used for units which require some differentiation from units in the same family
Compare a GT2860R to a GT2860RS. While both are ball bearing and externally similar, the GT2860RS is better suited for higher-flow applications than the GT2860R. In this case, the S reflects the higher-flowing nature of the GT2860RS"
