I spliced my fender harness to relocate it through the engine bay, got dyslexic with some wires and its pretty much ruined now.

I've been on the look out for harnesses/part outs for about 4 months now and no luck.

Its a 93 coupe, originally automatic converted to 5 speed.

Any suggestions where to find a harness other than jyards/part outs if any?

Are there any other harnesses i can use? Cant seem to find if fastback/ coupe harnesses are compatible.

You have to find an exact car from the same year with the exact same combination of options. Otherwise it won't fit. But even then there is no guarantee that it will work.

Coupe to coupe and fb to fb don't even work depending on years and options.

There were about over a dozen different body harnesses made for the US S13. They all have minor variations and will not be plug-and-play.

It's easier to just fix your wires.

^He pretty much summed it up.

I'd recommend asking Jeff (GSXRJJordan here on Zilvia [Jordan Innovations.com]) to help with your wiring. He does absolutely excellent work relocating and is very good with wiring. He'll be able to help you with it he is local in socal/LA area.

Other than that you'd be better off pulling the harness out and going wire by wire marking what is what. The junkyard is your other option, but like the user above me said, you'd have to find a car the exact same year model and make as yours with all the same options.

Why don't you just splice your wires back together? Just need to match the colors right? If you need some length then just add some more wire... More connections but it should work if you do it properly...

A lot of the wires are the same exact color/ gauge. I found some sets of wires that were spliced into one wire. Way past my echelon.

I had labeled every wire together but some of the markings had worn off, I got my 6s and 9s confused, etc. I'm pretty sure i got some shit backwards all well, ie: connecting an 36 to a 63. FUCK ME.

I connected about 45 of the 70 something wires there. I got it to run but my headlights and some other things didn't work. I ended up trashing the harness. Still looking for a replacement.

The harness in my fastback is from a coupe, and everything works fine. (Except for my headlight motors, but that is an unrelated problem. :()
I replaced the entire underhood harness though. Not sure about splicing different harnesses together.

Also, you do not need to cut the harness if you are trying to relocate it. You can just unplug it under the driver side kick panel.
Unless you are going all out with wire tucking.

The Super Multiple Junction (SMJ) (little white box under the hood release) is pinned differently.

The two underhood fuseboxes as well as the series of connectors near the battery are pinned differently.

Sometimes you get lucky and they work if you don't have all the options on your car, but most of the times you will have some wires that don't line up.

im thinking any 91-93 automatic se will work though right?

Now that it's cut up, there aren't a whole lot of easy options. It's true that the only plug/play options is to get one out of the same year/trim level/options package car, but you could use this as an opportunity to relocate your fusebox inside the car, or ditch the fuseboxes and SMJ all together with some custom wiring.

No, plenty of the wires are the same gauge (or extremely close), and the same color with different functions. It's funny how people realize this after they cut everything apart.

Hahaha <3.

How many cars does "g6civcx" have competing in professional racing series' this year?

Edit: Had this whole big ego-boost posted, took it down. People dropped my name, I commented, I'm done.

G6civvx knows the OEM s-chassis setup as well as anyone... I'd just as soon pull out the stuff I've seen fail time and time again, and replace it with an undeniably better system with the finest materials.

Ive been deployed and am returning soon so I really want to get back onto this.

My buddy back home has a donor car hes done with, says im free to get what I want from it. Its an 89 automatic se coupe, I'm thinking about just getting the whole electrical system and swapping it into my car.

I'll just have to rewire some things for it to run a dohc and redo the 5speed wiring since this is an automatic harness.

Im guessing this is my only route, any suggestions?

I really fucked this up, so before I attempt to fix anything I want some input.

just find the exact model (first X number of digits in the engine VIN or some shit) and then hit up a junkyard and find it according to that

like r32 gtr was bnr32 but gts was ecr32 or something, iirc... best option

i have a cut oem harness from a 91 s13 coupe if you want it? Just so if you wanna figure out how to fix it (which means just match the wires like white w/ silver stripe to white w/ silver stripe...

its all in the fsm , you just gotta figure out all the pin locations/colors and corresponding plugs.

It's free as long as you pay for postage, i have no use
