I have been running this KA-T for over 2 years.
Lil hiccups here and there over the years,
like vac leaks or the distributor going out.
Other than that, it ran perfect.

My setup is pretty basic:
KA24DE
GT28R
370cc injectors
N60maf
chipped ecu
HKS BOV

Recently, I came over this problem.
It was running perfectly fine before this for atleast a year.

A couple days ago, I was driving on the freeway and all of a sudden..
It bogged real quick and went back to normal.
It was similar to hitting the fuel cut on a stock 240sx,
but only for a split second.

Then after a couple minutes.
It happened again, but this time it didnt stop.
So I pushed down the gas pedal slowly to speed up.
It just sounded like it was misfiring
and all I could smell was unburnt fuel.
I kept pushing down more, slowing increasing throttle.
Then when it hit a certain point,
it had no problem accelerating or going into boost.
Its like I cant cruise, I can only idle or accelerate.

I figured this could be a problem so I exited.
As soon as I hit the first traffic light, the car stalled.

I popped the hood to check everything and it all looked fine.
Started the car with no problems
but I did hear a slight misfire at idle in the exhaust.

I drove back home and the problem was gone
until I was right around the block from my house.
(10min away from where the car died.)
Then the same bog I had on the freeway returned.

Thought it was the spark plugs,
So I changed the spark plugs with BKR7Es gapped to .35

Drove around to test it and it felt nice.
Then the problem came back.

Today I tried to diagnose.
Couldnt find the problem but I knew it was still there
because I heard the misfire in the exhaust
and it smelt like it was running richer than normal.

Does anyone know what the hell is going on with my car?

Fuel injector took a crap. Excess fuel in the cylinder has not been burnt, flooding cylinder.

Since you don't have SR, it's not the Ignitor.

Things that makes your car run like a Subaru or Rotary:

1. Injector(s) crapped out
2. SR igniter crapped out
3. MAF Crapped out

Fix:
1. OHM check your injectors (11 OHMs) is perfect (0 OHM is failed, 13 OHM or + isn't good.

2. Q45 ignitor = SR

3. Check Maf wiring, change New Maf.

COuld also be your Dizzy and or coil going bad, which would explain not burning fuel.

This sounds like what happened to my car. It wound up being a loose ic coupler.

Just checked all my intercooler piping.
Made sure all of it was tightened to where it should be.
One of the hose clamps on the intake tube was a lil loose.
Tightened it up and there was no change.

I just took off my air filter and
it seems to be idling a lot smoother.
Took it for a test drive w/o the filter
and the misfire problem was still there.

Im currently looking for my voltmeter
so I can check my injectors.
but yeah heres an update.

That bogging still sounds super familiar. Maybe a blown gasket or shitty bov or something.

As to the unburnt fuel are you running factory ignition? Dead coilpack? dead dizzy? dead wires?

Just Ohm checked the injectors.
All of them read 12ohms.

I am running factory ignition.

If blown gasket, which gasket would it be?
Im gonna try taking off my BOV to see if that changes anything.

Im running an s14 distributor, so it has an internal coil.
Dead dizzy? Its possible, but I would have to source another s14 distributor.
dead wires? I dont thinkk they would be, only had em for about a year
and only drove the car half of that year.
but I gotta find another spark plug wire and check with that too.

did you check the injectors themselevs like recommended it could be leaking like an o ring went bad try narrowing it down to which cylinder it can be

unplugged the maf, and it doesnt run without it.
If I try to keep it alive with the throttle, it smells super rich.
So im guessing it could be something as simple as injector seals.

I'd go with checking the injectors. I had a similar problem but I had a fpr. Wasn't holding pressure so sure enough the o-rings weren't sealing right.

Well, I figured I was planning on upgrading my injectors soon anyways, so I'm just gonna do that instead of buying new seals and then replacing them again when I upgrade.

Funny thing is, I also was planning on upgrading this also. I got a z32 maf in my garage waiting for me to order my injectors and tune.
