hi, i have a s13 coupe, i need some suggestions on which in dash GPS head unit i should get. i did a few days of research from the internet and audio shops, so i have a general idea of the pros and cons of each unit. i am mainly looking for the most accurate gps, voice control is a huge plus, id love to try it out. beside that, it seems like most other features are all common between the four units. the four unit i have in mind from number 1 to 4 (price high to low )

1.) Kenwood DNX9960
2.) JVC KW-NT3HDT
3.) Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT
4.) ALPINE INA-W900

1.) Kenwood DNX9960: it is the unit with the most feature and also the navigation is powered by GARMIN. lifetime sub to real time traffic. Split screen....etc. i would get this with out thinking twice, but the only thing holding me back is how slow the user interface is. the navi is fast, but everything else is very slow. i dont know if i can tolerates that slowness and the unresponsive of the touch screen.

2.) JVC KW-NT3HDT: Really dont know too much about these unit. i know that they have a fully functional hd radio built in. free real time traffic with total traffic plus. and one feature i think they should of done to all navi is the detachable faceplate. haha, dont want to pay 1000+ for a hu and get jack the first week now.

3.) Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT: this is originally what i wanted. before the people at audio shop and the internet keep telling me that there is a lot of problems with this unit. the best things i like about this unit, is that its pretty fast, not much loading wait, and definitely have the best user interface out of all of these four unit. but i hear there are too many lil problems, the navi is not accurate, and the voice command dont work as good compared to the kenwood 9960.

4.) ALPINE INA-W900: dont know too much about this unit either,i know its the simplest one out of all. also the lowest in price too. It is the fastest on pretty much everything compared to the other four units. they also claim that their navi is on point super accurate. now dont know if that is really the case tho? never used a w900 before....... one big downfall on this unit for me is that it doesnt have a voice control. i really wanted to try that feature out.

so yea.... i need to pick out a navi system, since there really isnt too big of a price difference between the four. please take price out of evaluation and let me know which one you guys think is better. any opinion would help thx.

also, does any know or installed in dash navi on their s13 before? b/c just from looking at it, if the faceplate tilt down and forward like the 9960 and the z110bt do, wouldnt the screen hit the shift knob if your in like third gear?

I've been running pioneer headunits for a while now and I love the GUI interface with their models. Snappy and easy to navigate through. A for the navi, it's accurate and easy to update every year.

I like the sound quality of Alpine units but the GUI is slow and ugly as heck.

I plan to buy a Pioneer Z series soon...

The JVC hands down. My brother in law has one in his GS 300, you get the good JVC quality, the OS is simple, it can control anything, and plus the face comes off!

Also, you should look at the Eclipse AVN726E, pricey, but an amazing unit.
