My ARP Headstuds came with no directions. Does anybody have a copy of them handy? ARP's website was less than helpful. Do you apply the ARP lube to both ends of the stud or just the head end? I've seen it applied to block threads but some people say not to. Also should the ARP kit come with Washers or do I reuse my stock hardware? If I was supposed to get some I got no nuts :bash:

You should use their nuts and washers that should have been provided. I apply the lube to both threaded ends.

I applied lube to both ends of the stud, as well as the washer top and bottom surfaces.

Anytime you are having friction between stuff as you are torquing it, you don't get a good reading on the torque wrench.

I think if you have the right studs (not sure how you will find this out if you don't have directions), it should be 3 even steps up to 85 ft-lbs.

Some SR studs say 105 ft-lbs, depending on which part number....some people have snapped the 85 ft-lbs ones by trying to torque them to 105.

Hes what came with mine 4 years ago.

I think the Tourqe spec changed though, So I would call ARP to verify

Best advice here!

Remember to properly clean out the stud holes in the block to be free of debris, and then (as said above) lube the stud appropriatly. These should studs should ONLY be finger tight.

Again, as quoted above, slowly increase torque following FSM 'order' until 85 ft lbs is achieved. I usually go in increments of 10 ft lbs. Sure it takes long, maybe it's not needed, but its' what I do.
