Just got my motor in last night. When I cranked it up it made a god awful noise. Its hard to pin point between timing chain/ head noise and maybe a spun rod bearing. What are some things I can to check to find this noise?

So the car idles fine with no noises, but makes a knocking sounds when revving. Also, it makes a bad screach when you push in the clutch, and dies if pushed all the way in.

post Vid, or search Youtube for "SR20 kock" or "SR20 Spun Rod bearing". Then compare

Well apparently something went wrong when I installed a new front main seal. I started it up today and oil shot everywhere. I took the crank pully off and the key was broken and the seal was gouged. So should I replaced the whole oil pump now? Surely bits of that crank key went in the oiling holes, eh?
Do you have to drop the pan to replace the front cover or can I leave it in the car?
