Looking around I've found people using tubular manifolds; full-race, megan, etc. Haven't found too many people using cast manifolds like the Treadstone manifold on an SR with a holset turbo. Does anyone have insight on these combos? Are there any fitment issues?

just make sure you get one that can handle the weight. Holset turbo's are very heavy when compared to Garrett and others. I would make sure the manifold has a lifetime warranty just to give you a peace of mind.

Cast manifolds can support far for weight than most tubular manifolds. Durability is their primary draw in fact.

my next problem - I can't seem to find a manifold that would fit an HX40 turbo, being that it's a t4 flange?

Full-Race can convert their TS manifold to T4 if you request it. Personally Get an HX35 T3 Housing with 12cm to 16cm housing and have it machine to fit the HX40. You can also get BEP housing for it. I have an H1E myself and got a H1C turbine housing which is T3 and just have it machined to take the H1E. GL.!!
