Have coilovers at the moment on my s14 kouki and to be honest just tired of the stiff ride. I only daily this car so i'm really considering going back to lowering springs/shocks. Is there a spring out there that will sit my car just as low or close to it being on coilovers? My car isn't THAT low at the moment so I'm hoping there could be a possibility out there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My car how it sits now.

If you want a comfortable ass ride, eibach sportlines/KYB GR2's or AGX's. Those might be able to bring it to your current height or maybe a little taller. A decent drop spring would be the RSR, although i don't know how these ride.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm just a little nervous about going to lowering springs as i already think my car isn't THAT low so i don't want it any higher than that lol!

Sportlines say 1.5-2.0" drop. Can anyone confirm this?

You could always get springs with lower rates for your coilovers.

+1. I have RSR race springs on my S13 (5K front/4.5K rear) and they are super comfortable compared to the rates most coilovers come with.

be careful taking advice from anyone thats a fan of hellaflush. There is a difference between wanting to look cool to 21 year olds, and having a good driving car. :P

there. I said it.

I agree. Hellaflush doesn't equal comfortable.

Tanabe df210 springs... 2.7 drop all around iirc. lowest drop springs for the s14 and supposedly, they retain comfortability. I have a set but I have yet to install so I can't give any review.

Well, i would get different springs for my coilovers but im running Godspeed coilovers and don't want to spend purchase more coilovers. I'm just tired of the stiff bumpy ride for daily driving, so i wanna get something a lot more smooth and comfortable.

huh? I think that's why Razi suggested you get softer springs for your coilovers. Which actually is cheaper then getting a new set of springs and shocks/struts. Quick search but Godspeed makes 12k front/10k rear and 8k front/6k rear springs for their coilovers. Try calling them for a set of 8k/6k.

I mean i guess i could, but i just have a feeling it's Godspeed all around. Everytime i hit a bump from the front left i hear a loud thud noise as if the strut is blown on it or something but i've checked it and i don't see any leaks or anything along that sort. I'm kind of just over a stiff ride like that.

At this point im really considering selling my car and purchasing a 350z just because i want a "new" car feel. If i can get lowering springs that make my car just as low as it is now and have a smooth ride then i'll keep my 240.

With KYB AGX's on sportlines, the drop was barely even noticeable on my car.

Looks like stock, rides like stock, handles like stock. Not a worthwhile investment, IMO.

Oh, I see. Well then, you need the df210 springs. Other springs will leave more tire-to-fender gap. From what I read somewhere on this forum, they'll give your car a similar stance to what you currently have and aren't too stiff. But like I said, I haven't installed them on my car yet, so I wouldn't know personally. It's just what I've read.

The problem is your coils spend some good cash on a good coilover setup and your problem will be solved. Saving for Powered by Max and those are stiff but I hear some stance are decent especially when you set them to full soft.

Well yes i know Godspeed is my problem but coilovers in general are just stiff and a hard ride. I'm looking for a smooth soft ride. Wheel gap wont be that bad ill just be a cheater and use spacers :). I'm really not willing to spend another $1000-$1200 on a coilover setup for daily driving/street use.

Well my car has been on hella flush, and it is slammed with no collars on my coilovers. Ride quality is stupid stiff, rediculously low. I can't do anything with my car, its just a cruiser car and i have fun with it being this low. But when i actually did drive my car, i had sportlines, i liked them, super comfortable, i agree that the drop wasn't very good. I say RSR's

Eibachs Pro Kits, but check their website, they tell you the drop. If you wanna invest a little try swifts super nice too.....

Don't go coil overs ever if you want comfort....

Tein Basics... maybe.... I think they are height adjustable... but they are like 800+ now....

I like how everyone is listing springs that don't even tuck tread. That, and the alleged "low springs" listed are way too low for the dampers recommended.

Tell that to the OP. He wants the same ride height but with lowering springs... not gonna happen. The only spring/damper setup I can think of that gets somewhat low, is that koni/GC set up with the custom housings that veilside180sx dude makes.

dude lowering springs are fine and all but dont cut it..i had old school rs*r race springs with agx..which was ok. The car handle pretty nicely, the ride was firm but on hard bumps,Sh** felt stiff as hell. But i hated the drop soooooo much. on 16s with 225/50 i had 3finger gap in front and 2 in the rear..I say get different set of coilovers, stance( which is what i got ) is pretty decent. I got mine dampers set at 7. Also pbm coils are nice for DD.

I have Tein Flex coilovers. They are 16 way. I have it dropped 2.25 inches. They are comfortable for a lowered car. They aren't overly stiff. I have my dampers set at 8 of the 16.

I can't. I don't have a pic and it is not likely I will get one any time soon. It is comparable to how yours looks now. I had a lot more room to lower it, too.

Just dont be a fool like most people I know and lower a car with GR2's. They are stock replacements and blow out very quickly if you have lowering springs.

Also for the OP have you looked into the Stance LX+ Coils? I believe there was a review on there and a few ppl stated them being smoother then Tein flex's...

I'm on the fortune 500 series and there pretty smooth, have them set at 15/12 clicks
