hi, i just swapped an sr20det blacktop into a 1990 240sx. it will crank but the injectors wont fire and i get no spark

things swapped out / checked

-swapped ignitor chip with a running silvia
-checked ecu pins 25,38,46,47,109 have 12v when ignition is turned.
-checked ecu pins 4 when ignition is off get 12v
-checked ecu pins 6,13,39,48,107,108,116 are grounded
-cas signal did fluctuate when engine was cranked ( altho i do admit i need to do more testing and will after work today)
-checked all fuses
-swaped egi pump relay and egi relay (eccs relay)
-checked coilpacks for power
-coilpacks are grounded to the back of the head
-triple checked wiring
-fuel pump does prime

ecu is an e5 with no leds on it

i tested the cas and it seems to be working correctly, so i ordered an ecu.

do you have your fuel lines hooked up correctly?

how do you know the ecu is bad?

how do you know the ecu is bad?

i dont know for sure, couldnt get one to borrow/test in my area. i have just ruled out everything cept the ecu. even if the ecu is not bad i could still use another ecu to send off for a rom tune since my 240 is my only car. BTW, do you have any suggestions?

PROBLEM FIXED!!

the ecu i purchased did not fix the problem, but when installing the ecu i saw some tape on the wiring harness poking out of the black cover right before the ecu( see pic ). i pulled all the black cover back and saw many butt connected and taped from the factory wires. one of the wires was broken and i repaired it. i suspect it to be the cas signal wire.

Good deal! Reading through the thread, it was all sounding very familiar to my roommates swap we did a few years ago. Culprit being a busted CAS. Glad you got it running. :)
